first appointment...
I just wanted to let everyone know that I had my first appointment with Dr. B yesterday, and everything went great. I don’t have any weight to lose before surgery…I just can’t gain. That was a big relief. And I don’t even have to have that many test. Just my blood work, and then meeting Keller, Somer, and then someone else…I can’t remember :), and then I’m going to attend group tomorrow evening. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes ok with my blood work. I could be joining the loser bench pretty soon!
Tht is totally awesome!!! I was self-pay so my process went really fast. It took me a little while to loose my 35 pounds but not really. I think I had it off in about 6 weeks and by the time that came I have figured out my financing. It's a lot faster if you don't have to do the insurance hoops but then again I wish I would have had insurance to pay it and could have kept my money!!! It was so worth it all though. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!!! I hope to be at support group tomorrow night so be sure and let me know you're there!! I would love to meet you personally.
I have to laugh at that one Debbie.....It seemed that I waited forever with self pay! I know that I am not normal though....I waited for 9 months total before I got to have my surgery but it was so worth the wait !
I would make a big suggestion when anyone self pays! Do not walk out the door without a receipt for what you pay ...Even if you write a check...get a receipt of some kind. I had more issues with the billing dept than I did with my surgery! After telling them over and over and over that I had lost my insurance and I was self pay. They continued to bill the old insurance company over and over, even though I had paid the charges in full. Last month they called to tell me I still owed like 200 something, when I had paid for every visit in full.....I just would say to everyone on any of these steps to just keep everything, with or without insurance!
