My poor hair

That is probably the worse part of this whole journey.  It was for me that is.  Mine continued falling out about 4 months.  It is JUST NOW back and healthy.  What didn't fall out had a dry fuzzy texture.  I've always had good hair and that was just hard to take.  The biotin will not stop the hair loss but it will help with the new growth.  Hang in there.  I've never seen a bald lady at the support meetings yet!!!  It was still a trade I'd do again!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

I know how traumatic it is.  It was for me too.  But I'm here to tell you that it does stop and it does grow back!  Mine stopped coming out a couple of months ago and now I have short new hair all over.

My hair was already short, but I got it cut again yesterday and when I washed it this morning, it didn't seem like nearly as much came out.  So now I have even shorter hair, once I learn how to fix it, I'll post a new pic.

The girls here have all promised me it won't all come out, so I'm praying they're right, as they usually are.  Good luck!

Hugs,
Marsha

I had fine hair before surgery so when I started to lose it, I freaked out and cut it off to my chin.  It kept coming out for about another 4 or so months.  After I was a little over 1 year out, it became noticeable (sp?) that it was coming back in again.  It is still fine, but it looks a LOT better than it did.  Hope you are able to get some relief from the hair loss soon and be assured that it WILL get better.  It is just a small price that we must pay.  *hugs*

My nutrition instructor at college was just talking about this the other night, and not just for WLS people.  Lack of proper protein in the diet can increase hair loss.  Biotin is what she suggested to add as a suppliment.  The main thing for us though is to get that protein in.  I also think that spinich and veggies like it help.

Facts are simple hair grows in three month cycles so the protein you were getting in prior to surgery is what is affecting your hair growth that and the anthesisa...I suggest this amke sure you get your protein in and use biotin. My hiar was real long ..almost to my waist it was my pride and joy....I had it cut iff to my shouklders and for the last year its been above my shoulders.  ANd what has surprisd me is that I actually didnt mind it being short. Now I am letting it grow back cause my protein is at 130 grams a day and I am not suffering from hair loss.keep your chin up, go find a cute hair cut and be free of it for awhile...between hair cut and weight loss you will feel like a new woman
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
