Snacking

I am having a hard time staying out of the kitchen lately. Wish I  could say they were all healthy snacks, but alas they are not. I don't know why I couldn't have had brain surgery too........lol.
It is so hard lately. I am trying to get in more fluids so this doesn't get out of hand, but I feel like it is a losing battle right now. I have got to get back on track and need your encouragement in trying to do so.
thanks so much.

I know that you can do this.  You have made it this far and you can make it the rest of the way.  We all know that this is the same battle that we have to fight and I am here to tell you that you can do it.  For me when I want to snack it is because I am bored.  So if that is the problem find something else to do.  I am cheering for you to get on the right track.

You can sooooo do this. Make sure that you have healthy snacks that you really like on hand so you aren't as tempted. Get some SF fudgecicles they are dreamy and might just get you through the urge. Unless it is salt that you are craving and then I like roasted almonds for that fix. Remember that a snack on occassion is not gonna kill ya....and tomorrow is always a new day.

You can do it!

I think we have a been there a time or too!!!  When I find myself rummaging through the cabinets, hungry or not, I make a cup of tea.  I know it sounds lame, but it is decaffinated and gives me that little bit of sweet and I don't have to feel guilty about it!!  Try it, it works well for me!!  I just buy a different flavor tea every time I go shopping and now I have like 10 different kind.  Or is you really are hungry, look for something high protein like peanut butter and bananas!!  Good luck, you'll get past it!!!!   -Layne
PS  The tea counts towards your liquid!!!

I am so right there with you. The last month on the road I have snaked more than I have eaten meals. My snack choices were not the best I could have done either. I am really trying to get back on track. I know it is hard! Hang in there girl, I will be thinking of you!

Hi, Emily.
Are you experiencing head hunger or true hunger? Chances are it's the former rather than the latter. Is there anything going on that's causing you some stress, so that you may be doing some emotional eating? If so, it will be important for you to honor your emotions by feeling and releasing them.
I see that you're halfway to goal. Right? I think that seems to be the time where we go through "something." We feel better, because we've taken off a substantial amount of weight. Our weight loss may begin to slow down a bit, and we find ourselves coming to a place of decision (whether we realize it or not)--do we keep going, or do we revert to old habits.
Keep your goals in mind, and focus on the prize. You can do this. Snacking (even the better, high-protein snack) only makes the head hunger worse. At least that has been my experience.
Praying for You,
Mary

Mary, thank you so much for the prayers. it is head hunger. I know this for sure. I am stressing because of George's job and I am on my cycle. i don't want to go back to old habits. I want to reach my goal weight. It is a realy struggle for me right now. My weight loss has slowed to a crawl and I am a bit frustrated by that as well. I am trying really hard though to stay focused on the big prize. Thanks again for the prayers. That means a lot.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT NOW WE HAVE TO GET PAST IT! DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP JUST PICK YOURSELF BACK UP AND KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO THIS. GET YOURSELF A HOBBY TO KEEP YOUR MIND OFF EATING AND ALWAYS ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING LIQUID ON HAND. I HAVE BEEN SCRAPBOOKING AND CROSS STITCHING LIKE CRAZY BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE I KNOW THAT IS GONNA HAVE A NEW BABY OR GRANDBABY OR IS GONNA BE RETIRING SOON. JUST KEEP BUSY! YOU CAN DO THIS.

I just wanted to lift you up.  Your progress is amazing.  I fight head hunger really bad.  The one thing that I did,  is really take time in the grocery store to find 100 cal or less snacks.  It has been a challenge.  On one of the boards someone said to do sunflower seeds.  I dont know for sure if that will help.   Have you tried the laughing cow chesse with the special K italian crackers.  That is one of my favorite snacks.  I know these ideals are not much but I hope they help.
