So some of you may already know about this and if so....THEN WHY HAVENT YOU TOLD ME!?? LOL, seriously though I heard an awesome idea from a friend the other day.

You take your egg, egg beaters, or egg whites (whatever you like to use) and put it into a ziplock bag, along with whatever fixin's you like in an omlette, ( I did regular eggs, with ham, cheese, and onions) you put it all in the bag and stick the bag in the microwave for 1-2 mins. and VIOLA! you have a perfectly wonderful Omlette. The best thing is you can mix up several bags and leave them in the fridge and grab one, pop it  in the microwave on your way out the door, they're perfect for an "at your desk" breakfast. Or a quick meal on the run. I just had to share with you guys! This is a great way to get our protein and get a healthy breakfast!!

I heard of them and putting them in a pan of boiling water but not in microwave.  Sound great.

I heard  about them for large groups.  But eggs, egg beaters, egg whites ( whatever) in baggie and then put all different kinds of ingredients in bowls and let every put their name on baggie with permenant marker and put the ingredients they want.  Put them all in  boiling water for 2-3 mins and VIOLA out comes everyones omlette at the same time and they look great.

Does it need to be one of the steaming bags, or would a regular baggy do?  (Seriously, I'm cooking impaired and I tend to blow things up catch them on fire-so I thought I'd ask).

I just used a regular baggie it may have been a freezer baggie though. But I don't really think it matters.

I used to work at a Coffee shop and we made egg mcmuffins and bagels, by spraying a bowl with pam, put the egg in the bowl, slightly beat with a fork, cover with a paper towel and cook for 1 min, to 1min10 sec.  I used to use different size bowls to make egg sandwiches, but it is a great mcmuffin and cheap and easy! Now it is just a quick way to make a breakfast, since I can't have the bread. I had never put it in a ziplock but have boiled the ziplocks before...Man I should have invested in ziplocks long ago.

Oh and if they pop loud don't panic....just make sure the paper towel is over the top and it's all ok.

My MIL does this when she has a house full of family..  She likes everyone to get together in the kitchen and have family time.. She cuts up all of the ingredients and than we make our own and pop it into boiling water..

Great idea,
Sheila
