What Vitamins do you take and schedule
Hi I was just wondering what vitamins you take and where you buy them and your schedule, I had my rny surgery May 27,08 so its close to my surgiversary,,in 2 weeks I will be having a hernia repair and excess skin removed, I am at my goal weight and been maintaining well but I need to find vitamins to buy closer to home so if anyone could help I would really appreciate it.
I may not be the best to ask but I was given the Ok to take regular pills as long as they were teh size of my pinky nail or amaller. That being said I take centum shewables twice a day, B-12 sublibinal daily, calcium citrate(this is one I simply break the pill down to the size my doctor recommends), I also take B-Complex and a chewable vitamin c (just because) I personally do not have issues with iron so they haven't added a seperate one. I also take fish oil twice a day. I also was low on potasium so I had one of those I took forawhile but was tempary as my levels went back to normal. I purchase all of mine locally at Walmart. Now every doctor is different but these are what mine recommends and so far my labs have been good and my doctor believes in checking labs everytime you come in.
I take regular vitamins at this point. I need the iron so I take One a Day for women. Be aware that your body can only absorb 500mg of calcium at any one time so doubling up on calcium may be a waste of money. Check with your nutritionist for their recommendation.
I also had a different surgery (sleeve) which has no malabsorption so my answers may be different than what you are told to do.

being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
I go to Walgreens and get a multivitamin of their brand called A to Z and is a chewable. The kind I have has iron 18mg in it so I don't take iron.. I take 2 a day....One in the morning and one in the evening. It is an orange flavored. Sometimes I take one at noon if I think about it, and I figure it can't hurt. I takeone Calcium petites in morning, and in the evening. I also goofed up and got some Calcium carbonate chewables from Walgreens before my surgery and rather than waste them, I am going ahead and chewing one of those at luch time. I know it is the wrong kind but taking two petites and then chewing this at lunch won't hurt me. You aren't supposed to take the calcium and the multivitamin at the same time....I think that is what they said at diet class...I'm not sure now. It is a full time job trying to space these things out. Oh and I take a b-12 Sublingual every other day. I try to catch the Walgreen's 2 for one sales and stock up. I got the A-Z for 3.99 at Walgreens yesterday and it has 60 pills so that's a month worth and at that price...I am ok with that.
