what were YOU eating after one month post op?
i was wondering what you were eating after one month post op? i am getting pretty bored w/ my current menus and want to spice it up a bit!
my boyfriend made some great turkey chilli the other night and chicken catchatorie went over well a week or so ago, but im craving something to give me a mouth ****** or something!
im doing great managing my head hunger, but sometimes i just wish i could have a piece of bread!
oh and im just curious also, this morning, i GAGGED after taking one sip of my normal protein shake (syntrax nectar iced tea) and vommed a little. i am experiancing bad sinus allergies at the moment but i dont know if the 2 are interchangable. i spoke to somebody at work who had the surger 12/22
and she said ever since she had rny she cant eat in the morning or the same thing happens. i am also pms'ing. i dont know if my gagging has to do w/ any of that or its something else?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! esp reciepes i love cooking new stuff!

Part of the problem with an answer is that everyone's doctor is different-some folks were still on liquids post op 30 days.
My mouth was ******ing over refried beans from taco bell-but it still does.... Taco bell RF are the only low fat fast food ones I know of-otherwise it's better to get them from a can.
I was also (and still am) fond of Wendy's chili but I don't have a boyfriend to make me a bowl of chicken chili.
It's summer here already, so I'm heavily into tuna again these days-it goes down easy, stays down, high in protein. But I don't make it the same way every day (and sometimes I use salmon).
Usually tuna/chicken/salmon salad involves some light mayo and some combination of:
garlic -never enough of this
horseradish
malt vinegar
mustard
sweet california basil (I'm running out)
Not all of this at once, but as a one two punch to the mayo. Or, sometimes I just skip the mayo and splash on some greek dressing and call it a tuna salad.
For dinner tonight I split a tub of brown rice with the birds-and put blueberry greek yogurt on my half of the brown rice.....viola-rice pudding! (it works with plain/vanilla and cinnamon too-but the blueberry was fixing to go out of date). But if you can't or won't eat rice, that wouldn't work for you.
Hopefully someone who cooks will come along. I remember being soooo sick of sweet stuff I once made (and consumed) a tuna shake (and liked it).
I will tell you that as you advance your diet you will find foods that don't work for you- put them away and try again in a few weeks. Also, some days you will be able to eat more than others. I still have times like that at almost a year out.
