I whacked mine off shortly after surgery (see avatar photo) and have now started letting it grow out a bit.  It seems to be thick enough (as in amount of hairs) but it's still just the same baby fine stuff I've always had.  I've been hoping to go greyer just to get more body, but even that is working against me....

I wish I could get by with being bald...but I wouldn't like that either.  It would make my life so much easier each morning!  LOL

I am going to try to use the nioxin more often and get some biotin and try that.  I'm sure in the end I will cut it off...at least that will give me through the summer to decide if I like it or not.

Your hair looks way worse to you than to anyone else.  Promise.  It looks fine to me.  Anyway, about the time that you are certain you will go bald it does stop coming out.  My hair quit falling out about two months ago and now I have short new growth coming in.  It gets better.   I also have fine thin hair and doubt it will come back thicker like it sometimes does when cancer patients lose hair and then new hair comes in.  I don't think it works like that for us.  Personally i think my hair looks better very short in this stage and hope to grow it back out once this new hair gets longer.

sweetie hair grows in three month cycles and you are suffering from how mcuh protein you took in back then. As for your hair, thin or thick it will grow back the way it was prior to surgery. Before I had surgery my hair was real long, and because of all the surgeries I had my hair stylist recommended to me that I cut it real short. Which I am glad I did. My style looks good on me witht he weight loss. I suggest you go for a new doo...One that before WLS you would never have thought about
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

hiya Marsha!!! I too am losing handfuls of hair. I know it will just take time and that there isnt any magic potions. However, I panic everytime I wash my hair or comb it! The Sinead OConner look isnt really in!
I know we wont go bald....just nice to hear all the reassurance here that we will keep at least some of our hair.
BTW, I have lost 58 lbs. Yay!

Hi Leah,

Congratulations on 58 lbs.!   This morning I'm wishing the Sinead O'Connor look was in.  I gave up, the humidity is high so my hair is just going to be yucky!  :)

Hugs,
Marsha
