Turn-around

Well, applied at a Walmart store computer around Monday, and one of the newer stores in Ft. Smith called me this afternoon to come in for an interview.  Talked with 3 people regarding a part time cashier position, and was hired, after being out of work since 12/3.  Not official until tomorrow when they get the results of the drug test I had to go take, but there is definately no problem with that.  There have been times lately that I needed to have failed the test.    Am suppose to start orientation Friday.  I am VERY VERY thankful for a job, not only to bring SOMETHING into the household, but to get OUT!!  But, at the same time (with shame), I am embarrassed that I have gone from a job with a fantastic salary to a part time cashier at Walmart.  I worked for the housing authority for 14 years, which gave rental assistance to low income families.  This Walmart will be on the side of town which most of those people live, and will come in and see me.  I know, I sound like a freakin snob!!!!!!!  But, will get over it, and I really am more thankful than any other emotion, and really has given me hope that things are definately turning around.  Also, kind of exciting, this time last year, there is no way I would have been able to even remotely consider applying for a job like this -- standing on my feet for the shift I will be working.  Heck, would have been barely able to make it to the back of the store where the personnel dept was located.  Michael

Yeah!!!!!!!!! I am glad you found a job and are able to get out of the house. It is hard when you are out of work and nothing to do. Of course I can always clean my house but for the most part drinking has been my job. LOL.

I'm happy for you!  Congrats on the job.  I hope you enjoy it.  I worked at Wal-mart for years.  I loved my customers!  I had people wait to stand in my line because they were so used to me.  I had little kids see me in another store and say, hey mom there's the Wal-Mart lady!  LOL!
Enjoy yourself!
OH, BTW, you need a new Avi!  I know you are looking different!  Give us an update!
Hugs

Muffin - Congratulations!  I'm so happy for you and the new job!  Being stuck in the house can only add to your depression so getting the job will be good for your mentality too.

I'm so happy for you, Michael! Let me just point out that this happened after you got yourself back to church. :)   You just continue to be grateful, continue to depend on the Lord as your Provider, and be faithful in this "little" job so that God will provide a "much" (bigger) job. Keep tithing, too, so you can claim Malachi 3:10. Okay, I'll stop preachin'.
Love Ya, my friend.

I'm envious-I'd like a part time out of the house job, but with my foot, I can't stand up for very long (I can walk though, go figure).  I am qualified for office jobs, but really not wanting to start up with that again.

I think this is going to give you a wonderful new perspective and maybe opportunities that you haven't even thought of yet!
