Sleevers, how many ounces can you eat?

I'm just wondering.  I know a nurse at WW told me 100cc's which I measured it comes out to about 3 1/4 ounces.  So I'm wondering what everyone can eat because I am having no trouble with 3 1/4 ounces.

Jenn,

I know sleevers are different from RNY but I do realize from both people posting that even though they are different it still takes time to get to where you should be. I am 5 months out and there is days I can't eat the 1/2 cup we are told we should be. Please you are only a month out at that point I was focusing on getting protien first and letting my tummy dictate when to stop.  I still measure my food out to what they say I should have (well most of the time anyway) and eat till I feel my signal to stop and go by that.   I hope that helps you some.

Thanks for the info!  I've been on a business trip for the last two days, so I'm just now getting to read this.  I have been focusing on getting in my protein first, but I have a huge problem with eating too fast and I was just afraid I was doing too much food.  It's still hard for me to judge when I'm full, or if it's just a gas bubble!

I've been averaging about 3 to 4 ounces of food, like you all say, depending on the density.  I don't think I could get a whole cup of anything now, including liquids.  But I'm doing really well so far!!

Hi.
At 5 months out, I can eat anywhere from 3-8 ounces. It depends on the type of food it is. If it's meat, it's 3-4 ounces. If it's Better Balance Honey Almond Cereal, it's a cup, although it's a light cereal (doesn't weigh much, like Cheerios--low carb, too). Some days I can eat more than others. The key is to eat slowly and pay attention to your tummy.
Blessings,
Mary

It really depends on what I am eating and what I feel like that day.  If it is something like chili I can maybe eat 1/2 to 1 cup.  If it is chicken I can only eat about 1/2 cup or less.  You will find that some days you can eat more than others.

This varies among people. At one year plus out, I can eat about 4 oz of solid (like meats) and about six oz of soft food - have not been able to eat a whole cup of anything at this point. Then again, I have never gotten my appetite back since surgery, so I eat because I need to in essence....or due to head hunger (that's a whole other issue, I know). So, keep in mind that everyone is different - just pay attention when you eat and stop eating when you are satisfied.

It depends on the food density and the day.  If it is say, real turkey breast (not deli meat) it takes only a few ounces.  Chili is about 3/4- 1 cup.  Different days I can eat more than other days.  Who knows why- it just is.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
