Little Discouraged Take 2
I know how it is when you need to vent about those who discourage you. I hope I am never one of those who push others down - even if I didn't mean to do it. Now - all I can say is if Dr B, Chris and Jess are monitoring you and your labs (as I know they are) then turn a deaf ear on those who are talking.
You are one of the most focused patients I have seen - Thomas being the first. I was concerned for Thomas in the beginning but I saw how focused and determined he was to get where he needed to go that I backed off and let him do his thing. As long as YOU are happy and YOU are feeling good - to heck with the world. We have to focus on ourselves during OUR journey - every one's journey is different (as it should be!). Not everyone has the same motivations and not everyone can focus so readily on the prize!!
Hang in there, follow your path and listen to your Doc and the dietitians. If you get off track, they are the one's that will correct you. Rock on Dude....I am proud of your accomplishments!!

COURAGE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF FEAR BUT RATHER
THE ABILITY TO CONTINUE IN THE PRESENCE OF FEAR.
Jeremy,
I am so proud of what you have accompished already and think you should tell them I am doctor monitored and they think everything is fine. I am starting to get these you are losing so fast comments lately and I have just smiled snd though it is said in that tone. I mess with their heads by saying a simple Thank You I am working hard at following doctors orders. I am unsure about when I am in ketosis but i do remember something about the dragon breath being involved and I know I love it when I get the bad breathe because I then know I will drop big that week. I know we tease about you guys big losses since you do seem to lose faster but in fact I think we are simply jealous when we don't drop that much. I hope you will always hold you head hgh and be PROUD of how far you have come.
I agree with Debbie in that no one has ever said to check my ketones to be sure you are losing, to me. It is a matter of choice. If you are following the diet plan, then it will happen. I also agree with her, that for Diabetics, it is very dangerous to be in ketosis for very long. I have 2 friends that have damaged their kidneys on that one. It can, if militant, also be very hard on the kidneys. It can, after a long period of that type, cause health problems. I'm sure that the issue and the critizism, is not about how you are losing the weight at all. You are doing great! I'm sure that they are just warning you to be careful and that is all. If we follow what our Nut's advice us to do, then we won't gain the weight back. There is no way to gain it back, unless we sway way off the path given us to follow. I do think that often, our fear of gaining the weight back can become a fear of evil carbs. I lived in fear of eating the wrong foods for so long, that I personally don't want to be afraid of food again. I want to eat right for my surgery and have that become my lifestyle of eating. I am trusting in these doctors and these Nuts for the best road to take to do that. If they say no bread, pasta, or rice, no matter if it is low carb or not, then that is just what I am going to do. I am trusting in my doc's rules to keep me where i need to be. It is a journey....but it is a personal journey for each of us. I think you are doing great on your personal journey Jeremy!
