water calculator

Hi, Everyone.
I'm reading a book called Finally Thin, by Kim Bensen. She lost quite a bit of weight through W****chers. Anyway, she has a web site, and I found a water calculator there. It just has you put in your age (not your weight) and check mark a few things (if they apply to you). It calculates how much water you should consume, and even says how much can come from your food vs. how much water you should drink. I was surprised that it didn't ask for your weight, as I've always heard that's how you figure how much water you need.
Anyway, I thought it was interesting, and thought you might want to check it out, to see what you think.

This is what mine said:

You need roughly 15.6 cups (125.1 oz.) of water every day. Of those, 12.7 cups (101.3 oz.) should come from beverages and the rest from food.

I don't think so, Tim.  OMG, I have trouble getting in the 60 plus oz. in.

Hi, Michael.
Yeah, I know. Mine said that I needed 9.6 cups of water, which I thought was do-able. I'd be interested to know how she figures it by age alone (basically). I'm 53 (in a few days), so do we need more or less fluid as we age, according to Kim?
Doctors Walton and Broussard ought to have everyone go to this site, pre-op, and then when they freak out over the amount, they can say, "But we require only 64 ounces." haha
I hope you're having a good day, Michael.
Blessings,
Mary

True, those 60/64 oz is the min requirement. I have noticed when I drink more like 100oz in a day I eat less and just feel better all the way around.
