Has anyone gained weight on the mushies?
I had lost the ten pounds of fluid I gained overnight in the hospital and then 22 more but when I started on the mushies, I gained 5 pounds back and I'm fluctuating 2 or 3 pounds everyday.
I am eating 3 meals a day and I'm eating only stuff on the approved list. The only thing I've not been really wonderful at is getting in all my liquids here this last week, but other than that, I've been following the rules.
So what's the deal, has this happened to anyone else?

I kept seeing others post the very same thing on the main VSG board so I decided not to weigh during those first several weeks except at the dr. office. I'm glad I did because it turns out that I probably stalled or gained during that time because my weight loss was not as much as some of the others. I probably woudl have freaked after paying money to have someone rip out my stomach and then only lose as much as I would doing weigh****chers or something. The difference is that I am 8 months later and still losing whereas with weigh****chers or anything else I would have thrown in the towel long before now. Hang in there and try hard to only weigh once a week so it doesn't drive you crazy.

Yes, it is very common to stall and fluctuate at that stage - after being on liquids for two weeks and then you start eating again, your body tries to hold on to any food you eat - it will let go of the fat once it realizes you are going to keep feeding it and not starve it again as in the liquid stage.
i have said this over and over stay off the scales! major surgery, rearranging your innards kinda makes the body tend to hold on to fat. so throw the scale away and concentrate on your nutrition...only weigh at the docs office for the first three months then weigh at home...>WEEKLY not daily...your body will fluctuate daily so instead of being on an emotional roller coaster do as I suggest.
Plus you are in a race..the weight will come off unless you are not sticking to the rules....
you are doing fantastic!!!

being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
I am where you are ....I mean I KNOW I am barely getting in any real calories, so I KNOW in my heart that my body is adjusting but when every day you are losing then all of a sudden it is a 2 to 3 lbs up and down game it is mind boggling that you aren't just dropping. I agree that scale is like a pain in my ass right now. I did however measure before my surgery and the inches are showing the loses so I am ok with it all....I think. This is quite a bumpy ride right now!!
Hang in there girl....We will get though this body adjusting!

A horrible but all too common reality for many of us. I stalled for 28 days beginning at the end of the liquid stage. I was totally convinced I had paid $1000 per pound lost and had major surgery- all to lose only 11 pounds. Well, as you can tell by my ticker that turned out not to be the case at all. I just have a very efficient body and it was hanging onto every ounce of fat as a protection against the famine I had subjected it to.
Hang in there, follow the rules, exercise and you WILL lose weight. I am smaller than I have ever been in my life. I weight about what I did when I did a crash diet just before I started my freshman year in high school!
