let me proprerly introduce myself
hey everybody!
i posted the other day looking for a doctor in the norman area and felt like i should introduce myself since i will be living in oklahoma in like omg a month and a half!! ! so insane to me!
im 26 years old from jersey and a week post op! i had my first appointment today!
ive been heavy my whole entire life and was just so sick of flip flopping! its so disappointing when your trying so hard all the time.
my dad had rny about 10 years ago and he was a sucess to an extent , he broke LOT of rules! so from him i learned alot of what NOT to do! ! yeah no puree'ing a steak a week post op! what a whacko!!
i am a store manager for starbucks, and hopefully will be continueing on with the company in some capacity when we move to norman. i have been with the company for 6 years. to some they think this is a temptation, but honestly if you have self control you can enjoy all the heathier options that we offer! many of my customers now are gastric by pass patients also! (enough of that shameless plug lol)
if anybody wants to share any recipes or anything for this newbie please feel free!!
i cant wait to catch up with some of you at the support meetings! you girls and guys seem to have a great group going on here!!
speak with you all soon!

Hi Ann Marie! And welcome to your new home away from home we promise to treat you real nice. LOL Truthfully the people here are good. You know there is a reason its called southern hospitality. I am 5 months out and enjoying my ride so far. I look forward to getting to know you and watching your journey.
Hi Ann Marie~ I'm Renae and I'm 31. I was 26 when I had my RNY gastric bypass and I'm a self-proclaimed Starbucks addict, even post-op LoL. I have all kinds of recipes to share, many are on my MySpace blogs (link to my Myspace is on my profile, if you have one). I've been out of town (San Antonio)... my husband recently deployed, so I'm going to have to catch up on why you're moving to Norman. I'm a bit out of the loop again. Anywho~ Welcome! I look forward to knowing you better! *hugs*

hey renae!
so yes why we're moving to norman..lol
my bf did not get into his grad school of choice (the u of hawaii) and so we decided why not get out of nj anyways ?? and so we started thinking of places we'd want to move..
hes originally from ft.gibson (born in moore) and he has relatives all over the state.
so my decison was made after i realized i wanted to be close to atleast one of our families, (im huge on family!). so we chose norman (his grandparents and other relatives live there, his brother in choctaw and parents still in ft.gibson). i love his family so much.
secondly was because ive lived in jersey since i was 5! ive traveled and what not but would love to just experiance a new enviroment and such. ive been to oklahoma twice and enjoyed it both times. sooo much differant then here on the east coast (ahh no oceans!! lol)
aww your hubbie is recently deployed, im so sorry! you must miss him dearly!
thanks for the welcome!!!
*hugs*

Welcome Ann Marie. Yep, great bunch of people on this forum. I think they are the best. I'm sure you are going to love Norman. Used to live there like 20 years ago, and hated to move. Can so relate to your dad because during the liquid phase, I wanted to go get some fried chicken and just chew it then spit it out. But, just the grossness of it prevented me from doing it. Even though I never make it in for the meet and greet every month, I hear from my wife they are REAL interesting. She still talks about it. (She went the night after my surgery). Michael
