Oklahoma Newbie
Hello all,
I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I joined OH yesterday and found the Oklahoma forums today. I had my lap-band done at Fort Sill on April 1st and I am recovering well. I am from the Norman area and am a full time student, army wife, mom, and walker of 3 fantastic dogs. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Kim.... small state! :)
I bumped into another lap-bander on the morning of my swallow test, but I didn't know anyone else was here on OH. I went to the Feb support group, but had to miss the March one due to scheduling conflict.
I have a mastiff, heeler/pit mix and a beagle. I looked at your profile and your great danes are awesome! I have always wanted one.

Hi there... I started my journey with the PCM, nutritionists, and support group at Fort Sill 5 years ago. I was referred off (due to lack of personnel at that time) to have my surgery with Dr. Warnock in Wichita Falls (LOVE him!). I'll be 5 years post-op in August. Congrats on your recent "banding"! I look forward to following your weight loss journey :)

Welcome to the Okie board! We are an active, happy and supportive group as I hope you will soon see. We have a bander on here who has lost over 100 pounds and is very successful. I'll send her a PM to make sure she knows there's a newbie bander onboard!
You really are freshly post-op so make sure you drink, drink, drink! And take gentle care of yourself right now.
There is a monthly support group dinner that is completely unofficial. We just do it because we enjoy each other's company! We just had one on March 25 so we haven't set the April date yet. But please come - we have a blast! Family members of any age are welcome.
So post early and often. We look forward to hearing from you!
