So I use to workout for free at work, well that is done and over with. I need to find a good cheap gym any ideas? All I do is about 45-60mins on the elliptical and I am golden. But since I am going to have to pay for it now I will need a place with some weights. I dont tan, so I am not sure where to go. I would prefer a nice place that is open either late or 24/7. So ladies and like the 5 guys we have on here any ideas?

I dont know if they have a Planet Fitness in  OKC or not, but it is reasonable. I think its like 30 - 40 down and 10 bucks amonth, with no contract. I have one there and at the Y.

Madamosielles is 54 down (including first month) and about 37 a month. You get access to all weights and equipment as well as two saunas, whirlpool and swimming pool. You get a personal trainer to help you get started and help you know when to move up, and they have both water and regular aerobics classes that come free with the membership.
I have been watching Freecycle and craigslist so I can hopefully find me a treadmill or elliptical at home.

Come to the Earlywine Y with me! I think the single membership is something like $20-25 a month.

I think you said that you live over near Memorial.  Well my church "Quail Springs Baptist Church" on May has a full workout facility and you can join for $20 a year.  Yes $20 a year.  Can get any cheaper than that.

Thanks,

Jerm

My daugher works at Anytime fitness on Hefner and Rockwell. I would not join any of those. I won't say why here but I just woldn't go there. She is leaving soon to a place in that same center that has a monthly fee but offers 24/7 hours and has the machines and the weights too. She is a trainer and said it irriates her when the owners goal is to get people locked into memberships and not the over all health of the customer.
I have a membership at Aspen for 1 1/2  years left....I wasted the first 1year and a 1/2. I do like the fact that they have the pool. It is a great place though.
Anyway....It all depends what part of the city you live in.  You are smart to get some advice on this before you take the steps and end up in a contract and hate the place.
Good luck

Sherry

There is a 24 hour gym in Edmond that keeps sending stuff to me and they charge $22/month and no sign up fee.  But I can't remember the name and I you probably don't want Edmond anyway but maybe they're a chain and there's one close.  I hope it's not the one Sherry says is gross!  What me to find out the name?

Steph - dork - there is a full gym at Sprint - right next to the break room.  It is free to all employees, seldom used and right next to the break room.  There are even showers and a scale too.  No cost - even better girl!!  If you can hang in there a couple weeks - you are able to use it even during training.  Depending on your hours we may even be able to catch some gym time together (yeah I NEED a kick in the pants!)

I am off of NW Expressway but it realy doesnt matter where the place is as long as it has what i need. I have been shopping around but the problem I am finding is they all want me to pay like 200 to start a memebership to a place idk if I like yet. I told one guy I would shop around and I felt like I was buying a used car he was that pushy.
