What is your opinion of Bailey Medical Center?

Dr Gorospe and Dr Kirk and their staff are great people.  If you are referring to the actual hospital and not their offices then I withhold comment.  Lets just say their billing dept needs a LOT of work.

I see that you have already had surgery, are you just looking for a physician to follow you?  If that's the case you won't be dealing with the "hospital".

I haven't had to deal with the billing dept yet. I am only 7 days post op. But while I was there the care I received from Dr Britt, Dr kirk, and Dr g, was great. They kept me an extra day because they didn't want to send me home with a problem (they thaught I had a leak) because I live 2 hours away. The medical staff was friendly and toook care of all my needs. I work in a hopital so I know quality medical care and bailey provided good care as far as I am concerened.

Sounds good.  I guess care during the stay will be the first concern.

Now I will just say, they dont get in a hurry for anything here and they let alarms go off for literally hours before tending to them. (even after the nurse button called)  As the caregiver in the room, it was torture.  Under staffed maybe, certainly alot of empty rooms.  Care was good, but extremely slow...and i mean extremely!  I will be leaving a comment card and writing a letter.  I dont mind getting towels, pillows, ice, etc. myself, but since that is not the practice used here, you are at the mercy of the staff timing.  Enough ranting, I need a tylenol!

Sounds like your experience was quite different from mine.  I was actually there by myself most of the time (family had to work), and I always got attention right away.  Maybe they did have a staffing problem.

I only have good to say about the care I received, wish your husband's has been as good.

Best wishes on his recovery.

Well, because of complications we are back at Bailey.  I will say the care this time around has been great.  We had a nurse named Edwina who was awesome.  Everything was different.  We were admitted thru ER and that was also quick and for me painless.  For my husband of course mucho pain.  Still a bit unclear as to the exactly what the problem is, but seems to be an infection, but not any of his incisions.   He was clear of any obstruction or leak.  Which was great news.  He seems to be recovering from the infection slowly but surely.  Hopefully he will be released tomorrow after his 2nd CT Scans.
