It occured to me last night...

Since my EGD is tomorrow, my surgery might actually finally be approved by next Friday.  One can hope, right?

you are exactly right!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to have a surgery date in the very near future.  We're holding your place on the "looser's bench" for you!!! 

I really do hope you will get an approval that soon and I have my fingers crossed for you, girl!  Tricare DID approve me pretty fast and there weren't quite as many tests/hurdles back then, so I hope it will be as quick for you.  *hugs*

Thankfully, all the tests & hurdles are coming from my surgeon, not Tricare.  They've approved everything really quickly.  Dr. G requires all of his patients to have the sleep study, and decided he wants to do an EGD before he closes off my entire stomach.  No biggie in the long run, but there have been delays in getting everything scheduled and he was out of town for two weeks.  (WHO TOLD SURGEONS THEY COULD TAKE A VACATION???) Now it's just going to be another hurry up & wait to get my date.  When I went in to get my physician's release for exercise signed I was told that they only date left for April was the 28th.  I'm sure that's taken by now!

Oooh!  That would be exciting!  Let us know!

The rate I'm going it might just happen!  I didn't realize until after office hours tonight, but the scheduler never called to confirm the appointment today.  I'll have to call first thing in the morning, in the midst of the rush.  Lovely.
