my dr used some kind of glue bandage when he closed my incisions and rubed one earlier when i was washing my tummy with a warm washcloth and I noticed a little puss come out is this normal. I know years ago when I hasd my gallbladder out the dr used steri strips and I ozed a little but i am not sure about the puss now. I called my mom (she is a nurse) and she will look at them tues when she comes to do my next shot.

I did the same thing and I had a tiny bit of yellowish puss and a little blood come out of one of mine.  I called them about it and they said it should be fine but just to watch it for more puss and to see if the area started to turn really reddish.  The main thing is don't feel hesitant to call them and ask questions.  They are very used to it and no question is a dumb one.  Chantel actually answers the phone "Hi Dan" when I call.  LMAO.  Just keep an eye on it and try your best not to irritate it more than you have to.  Hopefully it will be okay.

And congrats to you, we were ALMOST same day losers.  At least we are the same month!  Go Marchers!!!!

Thanks Dan I already feel better knowing this is normal and has happened to someone besides me. I am the kind of person if its gonna happen or go wrong it is with me. LOL I know dr g said the first thing I said when I woke up in recovery was "what was I thinking when I did this."

Congrats to you on your one year surgiversery. Now if I could lose as much as you have in 1 year I would be happy.

Did you have the vena cava filter as well.? I have to have mine removed and they had to really dope me up to put it in and I was wondering if it was as bad comeing out as it was going in.?

I am not a doctor but with as many complications I have had I can give you some advice.
Is the area red? Does it feel warmer than the same area on the other side? Is the puss oozing out or just a little bit is it opague or clear yellowish color. A little puss is not a big worry a lot is the color matters also...
For safety and peace of mind call your DOCTOR..these are the questions they will ask and the last one is are you running  a fevor.....do you have any brusing in the area that looks unusual...
And its normal for the glue or steri strips to come off in warm water....

No the are isn't red or feel warmer than any other area on the other side. The puss is just a tiny bit and it whiteish in color and doesn't have a smell to it that I can tell. I don't have a fever not since I left the hospital and no unuusual brusing just a hughe bruise where I got my last shot in my tummy. I plan on calling the dr in the am just for peace of mind. I know me if its gonna go wrong it will go wrong to me. I work in a hospital so I was more worried about MRSA. that is such a nasty little bug.

thanks

Sounds pretty normal to me and I know what you mean about worrying my doctor commonly uses a gastric tube for high BMIs like my starting one and it drained till the end but a few days after leaving the hospital it went from a real watery clearish drainage to a thick whiteish yellow and I freaked even without any warmth I just knew I had done something wrong. turns out it was the normal change it was to go through. I called and while they said they figured it was the normal they had me come in and were very understanding about it bothering me. So either wait on your mom today or call them you will feel better for it.

I had oozing from my large incision for about 6 weeks.  It scared me at first.  My dr. looked at it and said it was a stich absess.  I just kept an eye on it and now I'm doing fine!
If you notice it swelling or feeling bad you should call your dr.  but I would imagine its kind of normal!
Congrats on your Surgery BTW!

I went to see Dr. Broussard when I was at WW for diet class.  He looked at mine and said no problem.  As long as it wasn't constantly oozing or angry red with fever around it then I was OK.  He even told me to put some triple antibiotic ointment on it.  It didn't help that much but the pus quickly went away.

YMMV but I think you are A-OK!
