I AM 4 MONTHS OUT AND I AM SO FURIOUS WITH MYSELF THAT I KEEP WANTING TO GRAZE.  UP UNTIL NOW, FOOD JUST WASN'T THAT IMPORTANT TO ME.  I AM JUST STARTING TO GET SCARED THAT OLD HABITS WILL RETURN.  SURELY MY TUMMY IS NOT STRETCHED OUT IS IT??  WHEN I EAT PROTEIN I DO GET FULL FAST, BUT I DO NOTICE I CAN EAT MORE THAN LAST MONTH THAT IS FOR SURE....I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW OTHERS ARE DOING A LITTLE FURTHER OUT WITH THESE HUNGER ISSUES....

THANK YOU
CANDEE

Candee,

I am not much further out than you a week or so and I do find I have to watch myself if I am in a grazing situation like one of our family get togethers as well. Take a step back and measure your amounts out and see how you are doing based on that and as we get further out and adjust to our new tummies we have to learn to adjust whast we did at first. You can also try the 5 day pouch test.

Having the time of my life!

Are you letting evil carbs back into your diet?  I know if I let my carb intake creep up then I want to graze.  Carbs go down so much easier than protein.  And, remember they operated on your tummy and not your head.  You will have to work to stay away from old, bad habits.  Sorry, wish I had a magic answer for you.  At 10 months post-op I know I have to watch it more carefully than before or I will defintely slip back into old habits.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

YES, YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT ABOUT THE EVIL CARBS.  THAT IS WHAT I AM CRAVING!!!  WITH HAVING 4 LITTLE GIRLS IN THE HOUSE AND A HUBBY WHO CAN EAT ANYTHING HE WANTS IS A KILLER FOR ME. (ESPECIALLY WITH THIS SNOW).  MY FAMILY WANTS ME TO BAKE COOKIES OR POPCORN BALLS.  I JUST NEED TO FIND THE WILL POWER.  I ACTUALLY WOKE UP TODAY WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE, SO HOPEFULLY I WILL KEEP WITH IT THIS NEXT WEEK.  I JUST NEED TO GO IN MY CLOSET AND KEEP LOOKING AT MY NEW CAPRIS AND SHORTS AND REALIZE IF I WANT THEM TO KEEP ON FITTING I BETTER BE DISCIPLINED....
THANKS FOR RESPONDING.  YOU GALS FROM OK ARE AWESOME AND REALLY KEEP ME ENCOURAGED AND BELIEVING IN MYSELF...
THANKS AGAIN

Eat protein first even if it is NOT what you want.  A full tummy is a full tummy- if you can't fit in the evil carbs you will probably be able to resist them.  Yes, I know this is pie in the sky advice.  I need to follow it more often myself!  Good luck- warmer weather is on the way!

Candee I have been grazing for over two weeks mine is totally nerves from my 20 year old niece who is driving me totally nuts. I have returned to old habits. BUT my solution is simple I am pushing the protein in...giving myself till Tuesday to cut out the demons and then go back to the protein liquids on Tuesday to cleanse myself of the demons and get back on track. I gave myself that dead line so I wouldnt be going cold turkey and making it rough on myself.
Good luck and just know WE ARE HERE FOR YA

I'm just glad I am not the only one out there who is going through this cycle.  I just do not want to be a failure at this in a few years.  It truly is hard for me to enjoy all of this protein.  I loved carbs and with all my little girls I am always fixing some kind of pasta or potatoe.  I have been pretty proud of myself as I have stayed away from bread and pasta very well.  Now I have had some mashed potatoes or potatoe soup here and there.  Thank goodness just a taste satisfies me.
Dr. B does not even like me to go there though.  I thought I was doing so well and at my last visit i got a C- on my diet.  What in the World. I thought I was really working this tummy they I was suppose to.
Thanks again for the reply and good luck on Tuesday.  I am considering do the 5 day pouch test myself sometime soon.  Keep up the good work, it looks to me you know what you are doing by your weight loss....

Blessings,
Candee

here is the link for the low carb noodles I was talking about.  I notice those that have tried them love them.  Maybe this will help you feel like you can eat with your family all the foods you love.  I have changed my cooking habite.  My family grills a lot more (I am so glad DH likes too)  We have a new grocery about 2 mils away with aged beef!  I am ordering a rib rack this week.  those steaks fall apart.  I do let myself have a bite of popates with a steak but only about 2TBS i just fill on steak.  I ate tilapia stuffed with crab, and shrimp last night with a white sauce.  I do no****ch fat.  My only concern is protein and carbs.  This way I get to eat rich satisfiying foods.  If you cut carbs and fat out things are just boring to me.
