Celebrate vitamins strong taste aversion
I bought a 3 month supply of Celebrate vitamins. I could handle them with no problem pre-surgery. Post-surgery is a different story. I can't take them without gagging on them.
Does anyone else take these and need a supply? I'll sell them, price negotiable. I don't want them to go to waste when there are others that can use them. I have calcium, multivitamin, and iron. I have 2 months unopened supply.
Also, what do you folks use for your vitamins? I'm in need of new ideas. I know I tolerate the Centrum chewables well so I'll start there for a multi.
Thanks for everyone's help!

I used the Centrum chewables until I could switch to the tabs. I gagged down the Bariatric advantange calcium until I could no longer handle it. I was then a non-compliant patient and switched to the Citracal petites. I do NOT however advise you to do that given your tummy issues. You might ask abou the Viactic chewabel calcium even though it is the wrong kind of calcium- any is better than none in my uneducated thinking. Call your dietician tomorrow and see what she says. Good luck- this is a hard one.
I can't stand the taste of Bariatric Advantage multi's. I threw them all out!! I like the Centrum chewables and I am taking a childrens' chewable right now that has iron and calcium in it.....I take it 2-3 times a day and am hoping it is good enough for my labs to turn out okay!! Yep, the vitamins is a difficult issue!!
I use a Walgreen brand multivitamin called A to Z. It is a chewable and tastes like a sweet tart...Not great but doable. It has 18 mg of iron in it so I think that covers the iron. It has tons of other vitamins in it too. I think it says 23 vitamins and minerals, so for me I take this twice a day, a b-12 once a day and I also take the Centrum Calcium petites twice a day. I also take a Vit. D gel cap one a month that the doctor prescribed for me a couple years ago. I feel like I am eating vitamins more than food at times but so far so good on tolerating all of them.

Winne,
I've tried the Bariatric Advantage Calcium and cannot tolerate it any longer. Since I found out I have an ulcer, I haven't been taking any at all. When I saw Jess last week I asked her about a different kind of calcium. I've tried the UpCal D, have a whole box of it and I can't tolerate it either. Jess told me to go to Akin and see about a liquid calcium citrate they have there. I bought two bottles of it, an orange/vanilla flavor and a pina colada flavor. I, of course, haven't taken any yet, but I will let you know how it is. I'm going to put it in the fridge and get it cold and see how it is. I'll report to you tomorrow morning about it.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this. I did, too, but I want you to know that your taste aversion may not last. There were days, early out, where I could take them no problem, and there were days I couldn't. I have found that I do better just letting them melt in my mouth, rather than chewing them up. I sip a lot of water, too. Most days, now, I have no problems and actually enjoy them. Maybe that will be the case for you, too.
Blessings,
Mary
