I in my insanity decided I wanted to take the kiddo's to the Zoo today... Not knowing it was 1/2 off day & spring break to boot... We had to park 1/2 way accross Remington Park's parking lot, hike up the hill of a driveway and to the Zoo entrance... Got there an waited in line to get the tickets, was kind of cool it only cost 14 buks... It was soooo crowded, but we mangaed to see almost everything in the 3+ hours we were there. I had never been to this Zoo, so it was a treat for me.
I am slightly sun burnt, way tired, but got a good bit of exercise today...

I was there today too, with my 3 plus an extra.  What were we THINKING?  As we were walking toward the zoo my oldest asked me, "Um, mom, did you remember to put sunblock on?"

CRAP.

I always forget sunblock because the kids never burn.  I should know better, since I've only been pasty white for 33 years.  Yeah, I'm thankful that Motrin and I can still be friends right now, it's helping the sting a LOT.

Did you notice that the groups of teenagers wandering around were the most polite people there?  I swear it was all the adults pushing and shoving the little kids out of the way so THEY could see the animals.  Grrrrr...

We had fun, though, and now I have 3 very worn out monkeys.

I put sunblock on everyone but me! oh an my daughter who is 17 and lily white... She is toasted. Yes I did notice the older folk were RUDE you would think they never seen a dang fish before....and come on if u got to stop you wagon, stroller or beer cooler on wheels...pull over to a side where people can get by not in the middle of the sidewalk thingie... I kid you not,I heard 4 different people griping at their kids saying "No you cant sit down and rest I want to see the (insert animal here)" I was like dang! I thought the idea was to spend time with the kids an enjoy the day...Not run them into the ground so you can see the meercats...LOL I am gonna go back alone, so I can see what I want to see at my own pace and hopefully when school is IN....

I went to the zoo on Tuesday and it was as crowded as yesterday and not half price. People in general are just plain rude I have found. I guess they aren't happy with themselves. I can handle it if they are rude to me but to my kids, I'll say something. We were there to have fun and I needed to exercise.

I love to go to the zoo.  It's a good one, isn't it?  I'm glad you took the day to visit and take your kids.  Those are some great memories!  The sunburn - not so much!

I love the zoo and we had plans to go Monday but due to family health issues it didn't happen Now I am thinking I may be glad we didn't try to take 6 kids with my 10 and 7 year old being the oldest there after all.   If you can sneak a day away when it isn't spring break and such the zoo is such a great place to visit. I am so looking forward to being able to walk it without feeling the need for oxygen and a wheelchair.

We should have a grown up Zoo Day (during the week).  Last time I was there I took my parents for Mother's day-it was too hot and the 'rents got tired and whiney....
