I have been searching for my protein supplements on line and at local stores but they are so expensive and at the moment we are on a very tight budget untill I am back to work 6 weeks after wls. My friend said she bought hers at wal-mart. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to buy this supplement at a little more reasonable price. The cheapest I have found so far (other than wal-mart) is 40.00 for a 2lb container. any ideas or help would be great.

thanks Christina

I am like you in that I couldn't afford the expensive brands from most places so I use Body Fortress from Walmart. It is a little over 14.00 and is a 2lb container.  It only has 2 carbs and  26 grams of protein for one scoop and 52 if you use two. If you use Braums milk it comes to 39 grams of protein per scoop. I like it and to me it mixes as well or better than most. It comes in 4 flavors. I don't know if it would be liked by everyone, but I figure it's just a drink and I can do this for now, but honestly once I tried it, I was fine with it.  I use the Vanilla because I put it in jello and in puddings.
I hope this helps some.

For super cheap you could drink a lot of milk. That is about the cheapest thing I can think of. Wish I could be of more help. I spent a fortune on protein shakes that first month and most of it went down the drain because I am super picky. I am not sure if all of them do it, but at my GNC they will let you taste things. He had some of the protein shakes mixed and I was able to find one that i liked.

I found a protein shake at GNC that I really liked but it was $64 for 3lb. I found the same thing online at allstarhealth.com for half the price. This stuff is 50 g protein per serving so depending on your diet you may only need half a serving which is what I do on days that I get my protein from other sources.

Good luck Christina. So far I have spent about $300 trying to find a protein I can tolerate. I am still looking for one.
