Update on me
Just wanted to let y~all know I went to see my PCM this afternoon. He hooked me up with meds, and a referal to have a diabetic eye exam. He said my sugar was 180 last visit & he was concerned it had gone from borderline diabetes to Full Type ll diabetes. He was glad I went ahead an tested myself and went on into the ER. So now I get to see his smiley face every 2 weeks from now till surgery. Doc told me to rest & get plenty water in & watch the diet.
Hubby and I have cut out soda & sugar of all types except natural sugars in food. We are doing an Adkins type diet & gonna work on getting in some exercise (on my part he has PT 4 days a week).
On another note, I got pre op for my EGD tomorrow & then the EGD is Wednesday.
Thanks to all of y~all who have sent PM's checking in on me & those *****plied to the post I made earlier. It feels really good to know there are ppl out there that care!

I also cut out anything that is not natural meaning deli meats that are perfect in shape....No lunch meat, or sausages..cut out pasta, rice, potatoes, sweet peas, corn and used oatmeal, cream of wheat and grits instead of dry cereals. Werid part is after you cut the stuff out and then go back and try it it just doesnt taste as good.
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
Hey Kim, I am so glad you are getting this taken care of. It is a scary thing. At Christmas I had some over 400's and it terrified me! I was taking my meds and watching everything I was eating too.... I am anxious to see what happens in the next few months. My readings have been very good the past few weeks so we shall see as I begin real food once again. Eating right should help anyway.
I'm glad you are watching the carbs for now. I cut all the rice, pasta's, soda, and breads from my diet since I wasn't allowed them after surgery anyway, and it did help to drop the required weight for preop.
Besure to let us know how your EGD comes out.
