There is a generic form of Protonix called Pantoprazole.  I found Protonix was very expensive, but the generic was much cheaper and seems to work as well for me.

My  diet coach  said we should have between  65-70 grams of protien a day. Men  should have between 80-85 grams of protien a day.   There are many kinds of powdered protiens and liquid  protiens  out there look for ones that low sugar, & carbs. such as Champion Whey or Unjury Protein . They have sample packs that you can try before buy a large jug.   You can find protien products on the web at   http://www.bariatriceating.com/ there are also meal plans and vitamins plans for all stages .

Hope this helps.

I was just thinking about your post again and wanted to make sure that you know your husband should be on either liquid or chewable vitamins and supplements, probably for the first 6 months. I have stayed with the bariatric vitamins and supplements at www.celebratevitamins.com, because they taste good and I know it's the right kind and amount for WLS patients. :)  Whatever he uses for Calcium should be calcium citrate, NOT calcium carbonate, too.
Blessings,
Mary

I suggest you find a surgeon here that will help him. YOu might have saved money by going out of country but when it comes right down to it...You got exactly what you paid for a  surgeon that did the surgey took your money and then said adios....

Thats the point. I would not go to to a surgeon that did not have a program. My imput would be the same if you had it done here or else where. If you really want suggestions then dont get offended when you get a reply.

If you are with a stone's throw of Oklahoma City, Weightwise in Edmond has support groups that meet once a week on Thursdays.  THEY ARE OPEN TO ANYONE, whether they had their surgery there or not.  I try to attend once a month and get a wealth of information every time I'm there.  Good luck on your journey.  I use the Atkins Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar for 18 g of Protein,  1 gram sugar, 240 calories, for a protien boost.   They are off the shelf right now because of the peanut recall, but when they're back I'll be buying in bulk again.   There's also one called PureProtein at wal-mart, which has 20 grams of protien.  They're okay, but don't taste as good.  Good luck in your endeavor !
