I'm glad to hear from you!!  I was torn when I made my decision too but I did finally decide on the lap RNY and have be so totally pleased.  I have lost 170 pounds so far and want to loose about 60 more.  I would do this all again in a heart beat.  There is no comparison to my quality of life and how I feel.  I really didn't have any quality before WLS.  Good luck to you.  I know you have a great surgeon.  He did my sister in law's lap RNY 3 years ago and she has been very successful with it as well.  The one thing with lap RNY is they have many many years of data on it.  The sleeve has been successful but is very new.  A lot of insurance companies will still not cover it even though mine excluded any kind of weight loss surgery any way.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Wow! 170 pounds!! THAT is fantastic!!!!  Gosh, I can't even imagine my life without having to carry around a bunch of extra weight.  I guess in 2000-2001 was the closest I have ever been.  Until....I got pregnant and then kept on gaining weight after he was born.  But, I am so excited thinking about the possibilities of things to come.  I know it will be well worth it.  Keep up the wonderful work!!!

Whoohoo Paulette!  That is a HUGE decision!  I too thought about the band first, but once I found out my insurance didn't cover any weight loss, I started looking at the how many fills I'd need and if anything happened, that's an automatic surgery again.

So I finally went with the sleeve because it was less expensive, but also because I've already got arthritis and I know I'll be taking anti-inflammitory meds, so I wanted less chance of problems with that.

Good luck and before you know it, you're gonna be on the loser's bench!!
