6 week post op follow up
You will love Dr. Walton. He's my surgeon so I am a bit partial!! They will take your vitals as usual, go over your meds, ask you how you're feeling blah blah blah, look at your incisions and belly and ask you if you have any questions. Be sure and write the questions down because if you're like me I forget what I was going to ask if I don't. It's really pretty uneventful... Good luck!
At myt 6 weeks I talked about vitamins because I couldn't handle the nasty gritty taste anymore from the bariatric vitamins. I got permission at the visit to begin using a small mutli vitamin pill instead of chew up the bariatric. I literally had to use the gel on my wrists to keep from throwing up when I took those!
I have a co-worker that used Walton and loves him...oh yeah....by the way....I have another co-worker that is a friend of yours!!! Not long ago she was telling me about her best friend who had the surgery and somehow she mentioned you had red hair and of course that triggered your screen name and I asked her if by chance her friend's name was Jennifer! LOL! Small world!!!

I love Dr. Walton! He is such a wonderful man. Now don't get me wrong, I love Dr. B. too, but have only been around him one time and he did the last EGD on me. He was great, so very nice too...but like Debbie, I'm kind of partial to Dr. Walton. The six week check up isn't bad at all, we talked about the problems I had had, my ulcer, etc. but if you don't have that, it will be uneventful. We did discuss vitamins also. I can handle everything except the calcium, but that stuff nearly gagged me. I bought some of the UpcalD but have a hard time getting it down too. I have been putting it in coffee and it's better, just a bit gritty. Dr. W. told me to not worry about the calcium until I get the ucler healed.

I don't like the liquid calcium citrate I take. It is blueberry flavored and gags me too! I wanted to punch the boy in the throat at Akins that sold it to me telling me it tasted wonderful. If by wonderful he meant it takes like ground up chalk and dirt he was right. I finished that bottle today (Thank God) and was wondering if I could just get plain calcium pills. I guess I can ask Dr. W that.

All the vitamins gag me out I am praying for the six month mark where we get to take pills again. I have to admit I am not good at the vitamin thing right now because of the feeling of needing to yak every time I take one. Supposedly Bariatric Advantage (sold at WW) is supposed to be coming out with a Calcium Citrate Chew that is going to be very good. We shall see. Go early to meeting tonight and ask them for tons of samples. I take my iron separate to get better flavor on vitamin. See you tonight.
