New Drivers License?
Did anyone get a new drivers license before they legally had to because of weight loss? After loosing 80lbs I don't look anything like the pic on my drivers license, when I have to show it usually they have to look a second and a third time. I still have 16 more lbs to go before I hit goal, should I wait till I hit goal? will I look much different than I do now when I loose those 16lbs? I'm on the fence about it, what do you all think? Well, my renewal isn't due until July. I still show my same driver's license even after 170 pounds gone. I do get some odd looks sometimes but hey...I'm not going to give the State any money until I have to. I figure well, my license has said 150 pounds even when I weighed 408!!! Not a big deal to me. I really don't think your face will change much more with 16 pounds left. You've doine a great job!! You can get it changed for either $10 or $15. I can't remember for sure.
You know when I lost 210 lbs., I didn't get a new license until it was time. It was funny the reactions I would get from people, and I also carried an id card from school that had a recent pic on it to prove it was really me. I wanted to keep my old license when I had to get renewed, but they wouldn't let me. :( Should have scanned them, but didn't.
Enjoy the looks you receive because you don't even look like your old self. It's fun!
Hugs,
Marsha
By the way...congratulations on reaching that milestone!

I'm planning to keep my old license...I might have to just "loose" it and need to replace it??? LOL I'm just funny about spending money that I don't need to. I'd rather buy a new pair of pants with the $10 or $15 for now!! I'm thinking that if you get a new one now you still have to "renew" it when it's the normal time too.
I got a new driver's license last month. Mine was not due to be renewed until July of 2010. I just didn't look like my license anymore, so I wanted a new one. It was 10.00 dollars to renew. I new they would ask for my old one, so I "lost it somewhere" and said I needed a new one. (That way I could keep the old one for posterity.) One of my co-workers that lost 130 pounds after WLS waited until renewal time to get hers replaced. The Oklahoma computer did not recognize her and they had to send her fingerprints to OKC to verify that it was her. She had to wait several days to return and get her new license. Just something to think about when you go, that the computer will not recognize you.

True confession-I still have my Texas license that I got LAST time I weighed what I weigh now. I know it's time to change, I just haven't done it. It was very humiliating for me to have gained all that weight back and have people do a double take, and now no one notices, so I'm enjoying my little piece of Texas for awhile longer till I go and get an Okie one.
I didn't know that they would confiscate the old license, I surely want to keep it, it still has the weight on it of 170 from when I got it at 16 and that weight was a lie. I will just have to accidentily have misplaced it. I might waite until the renewal date, I think its in a year. Thanks to all. Rosielocks
I've always felt a little guilty because my license has had the same weight on it since I got it. Mine too was a lie, but no one has ever asked me about it. It also says I'm 5'9" which I had a growth spurt that year and grew 2 1/2 inches.
I always figured if I got into trouble and the po-pos came looking for me, I'd lie and say that girl wasn't here!
