My one piece of advice today for all who are pre op is to measure yourself before your surgery. When you hit a stall or what you think could be a stall, you can look at the inches you are losing and know you are still making progress. It is am amazing thing to literally watch the inches dissapear from your body.  So measure, measure, measure!!!

Measuring is a great tip Sherry!  That is an advantage of belonging to Curves, I get weighed and measured every month.  Last month I lost 8 lbs and 7 3/4 inches!  So, it's easy to see my progress that way.  Noticing clothes getting loose is good, but seeing it in inches is great too!

As soon as my wife comes home we'll break out the measuring tape and I'll record all my measurements.  I know my body will change but I cannot yet grasp the concept.  I've never been thin so there's nothing to compare it to!

I just noticed that your ticker says you have lost over 50 pounds. That is awesome Winne. You have so much to look forward to.
Are you antsy or nervous? I wasn't until I started having some down time. I have the house all cleaned up and the laundry done and I am packed. the kids are in their rooms and my hubby is in bed sick with a virus. So, I am sitting her all by myself. Feeling nervous as all get out.

I did measurements and took pictures last night. I gave the paper to my mom so I wouldn't lose it. I plan on doing monthly measurements and pics.

Hey Emily,
I saw that your surgery is tomorrow - best of luck to you, you will be fine.  I remember being scared too though, and the week after asking myself, what in the world have I done, well I am 110 pounds lighter and feel fantastic.  Completely off all meds, but have been scared lately of gaining it all back.  I haven't hardlly exercised and blessed with not needing plastic surgery.  I said I wasn't going to have that anyway, I just wanted to feel better and I do.
Best of luck, and when you get back online, send me a note and let me know how your doing.

Measuring is essential to your sanity!  When I was on the month long stall from hell  that is the only thing that kept me sane.  I lost more inches than pounds in the first 6 weeks post-op..How is that even possible???
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
