I'm so steamed! My Dr.'s office is dragging their feet about getting my information submitted to insurance, I did 12 months of dieting only to have them take a week and a half (so far) to submitt my paper work!!!?? I've called everyday to see if it was sent in and everyday it's the same story, and Today she said "I feel sure that the office will contact you when we hear something" Well hell if they never send the crap in then they'll never hear anything now will they!? The scary thing is that a friend of  a friend of a friend said that she planned to use the same Dr. and they took almost 4 months just to submitt her stuff, so she finally went to a different Dr. and got approval and surgery within 2 weeks. I simply DO NOT have that long, working in the oilfield industry in this economy...i'm trying to have surgery before they decide to lay me off!! I understand that they have other patients too, but they've had all my info for over a week now. *Sigh* and I know that once they do submitt it will take about 2 weeks for insurance to review and approve. GRRRRR I"m ANGRY

I don't blame you for being so steamed.  You might ask the doc's office if there is something you can do to help move it along since you are worried about possibly loosing your insurance in the very near future.  You migh add that if they can't handle it then you might need to get another opinion or go to another facility.  Just my thought.  There are several in the OKC area but I know that wouldn't be very convenient for you either.  Good luck!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

That would make me madddddd too!  Poor girl!  I sure hope they either get your stuff submitted soon or you can find another surgeon.  You have the option to go get your information and go to another Dr.  4 months is crazy!
Good luck!!!

Call me if you need to vent, girl!  I've never heard of it taking 4 mos, but I think you're doing the right thing by calling every day.  I know you might think they are getting annoyed (and maybe they are, but who cares), but it's YOUR surgery and you have the right to get that insurance paperwork submitted PROMPTLY.  Keep on them and know I'm here for you... call me, text me, vent away.  *hugs*

I would defiantly be ready to bite someones head off! I am already sooo anxious to get my wls, that I can hardly stand it and I have not even found a way to pay yet!  I don't think there is anything wrong with calling everyday either. You are a paying customer and as such should get the customer service you are paying for.  I run an automotive repair business with my dad and you better believe that if we don't have someones car ready when we say, that they are calling us everyday.(with good reason)  Why should your health be any different?

I work in the medical industry and I can tell you I have a lot of trouble dealing with Dr's offices.  In my experience, there is usually one person who causes the delay.   I might suggest you could speak to the one person who is the hold up and offer any assistance in order to speed up the process.  Sometimes it also helps to plead your case with that one person causing the hold up and explain to her how long you've been involved in this process and how excited and anxious you are to get on with it, she may have a heart and get it done.  I would try to pin her down and ask for a specific date you can expect to call the insurance company to verify they have received the paperwork.

Good luck!

well that's the thing, every time i've seen my Dr. I've talked to her too. she's the one that sits you down and tells you all about the requirements that your insurance asks for and is supposed to help you get approved. I told her about the urgency at my last apt and she said she understood and would do all she could to see that my paperwork was expediated. She said "I would hate to see you come this far only to find yourself uninsured when the time (for surgery) comes" So now i'm just clueless and frusterated. I think i'm going to give them unill Friday and then call again, and if they still haven't submitted, I'm going to consider a different path, I may even try to contact Dr. W himself....I just can't switch surgeons though I don't think i'd be comfortable with anyone else

That sure is taking a long time, I wonder why, my took a week to get submitted by the doctors office, if I were you i would talk to Doctor Warnock direct, I am sure he would want to know what the hold up is, if it is in his office....I would call him, after she is not able to tell you what the old up is, and yes, first thing in the morning....

Good luck, but to tell you, Dr Warnock is worth the wait, he is wonderful, does great work ...so I keep my fingers crossed that nothing else will hold it up

Wow you are between a rock and a hard spot.  Well, maybe persistance will be the key.  Good luck with it! If I can think of any tricks, I'll let you know.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
