frustrated and food crazy
The last two days have been a big food struggle for me. I am wanting to eat everything that is chocolate or carby in nature. I think it might be stress that is making me feel this way. I keep asking myself, are you hungry, the answer is no, but the desire is so strong. I keep drinking and eating sugar free popcicles and they don't help.
Any ideas that anyone can offer me would be appreciated. I know this is head hunger talking, but I am really worried about falling into bad habits. I am only a month out, why am I being so crazy? This is very frustrating.

Jenn,
I have had some of the same going on with me. It really is late in the evening say 9ish. I found that if I eat a little peanut butter it really kills the craving and I get a little extra protein before bed. I know we are not supposed to snack but I tried drinking my way through it and still be hungry. I will ask dietician next time I get to see her but on the days I am struggling I have found a small solution.
Thanks,
Jerm
For a protein drink, I have been using Body Fortress from Walmart. It comes in a 2lb container which looks huge, but it is about 14 bucks. It has 26 grams of protein per scoop and you can use 2 scoops. I use one most of the time. The good thing is it only has 2 carbs. When you add it to FFSkim milk it is really not that bad and becomes 39 grms of protein. It mixes pretty well without much grit compared to some others anyway. I have Chocolate, cookies and cream and Vanilla. All are ok for protein drinks.
I am using the brand at Wal Mart, can't remember the name, and it's Whey Protein, and chocolate flavor. I mix it with a banana, crushed ice, 1% milk and I'm telling you, it is AWESOME! You feel like you're having a milkshake and for me, I have one on the way to work in the morning (7:30) and it holds me til way after noon! You can of course use water or fat free milk and it would be even better calorie wise. Adding the ice gets you some more liquid and it makes a larger serving so you can freeze it or probably even refrigerate it for awhile.

We all have years of out-of-control food behavior and it's very difficult to break. There is definitely a very strong emtional, head component to all of this. I struggle too but have more control than I used to have. Some days are easier than others, that's for sure.
Hang in there and fight the good fight! You can do this!
