Bummed

 I got my insurance package today and they stuck an exclusion in it after they told me there would not be one. I am going to call Monday and see what they say but I'm not holding my breath. 
I knew it was to good to be true. I am so sick of dealing with insurance! I think it is time for me to suck it up and self pay.
On that note any advise on who to finance through? Anyone use capital one medical?
And how about surgery in Mexico? I am really thinking about Dr. Joya, but would love to hear any and all suggestions. I am having the RNY.

Welllllllll.......Here are my thoughts on this....Going to Mexico, may be a cheaper surgery and they make it look like a great hospital and so on, BUT..... just what happens if you end up with a stricture, or any other complication a few months down the road? It can be very dangerous if you should develop complications during or later.

I had heart issues, so Mexico was never an option for me, as I needed to be close to my heart doctor, but I would not have wanted to do this without my family being available in case ANY thing went wrong.

There is a very large difference in pricing with different clinics here in OKC. I would check each clinic to see just how much each charged for the RNY.  I think many have used the Care Credit and been please with it. I'm sure others have used the Capitol One Medical, but I don't remember.

I know how much you want this and I will pray that somehow it will all fall into place for you.

Yes, I'm sure you could see someone locally, but they would not be familular with your case at all.....I just don't know...That was my fear. I know that even if you did have something go wrong here, the insurance wouldn't pay, as it would be weight loss related....or I would think so anyway....Ohhhhh I don't know....I'll just pray...how's that! LOL

I THOUGHT ABOUT MEXICO BUT I AM A BIG OL' CHICKEN! MY INSURANCE HAS AN EXCLUSION AND I KNEW THAT GOING IN SO MY MOM HELPED ME GET A LOAN THRU SURGERYLOANS.COM WHICH WENT THRU MEDCHOICEFINANCIAL. THE LOAN IS FOR 3 YEARS AND MY PAYMENTS RIGHT NOW ARE AROUND $300 A MONTH AND I HAVE BEEN DOUBLING UP ON MY PAYMENTS SO I CAN GET IT PAID OFF BEFORE 3 YEARS. ALSO IT IS KINDA LIKE A CREDIT CARD SO THE AMOUNT THAT I GET PAID DOWN I HAVE THAT IN ADDITIONAL CREDIT. I DON'T THINK I WOULD USE IT BUT I HAVE THAT OPTION! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR RESEARCH AND THE BIG DECISION YOU HAVE TO MAKE!

i think you can choose any dr you want. i knew dr broussard used them because that is where i got the info. just call them and ask. they are very helpful!
