Hope it gets easier

It will get better. Just be sure and be up and walking around alot. If you brought your Incentive Spirometer home from the hospital use it every  1-2 hours. If you are sleeping alot and not moving much your lungs aren't exspanding as they should and that could be causing the fever. Your stomach will continue to growl because you will not have any restriction to speak of until your band fill. Also, be sure to get all your fluids in. It just isn't an option not to. Best of luck and hang in there.

I want to thank everyone for their words of encouragement.  I must have been on some serious pain meds when I updated my profile, because it shows the wrong surgery.  I had the RNY on the 16th. I just wish I could get comfortable, and that the port incision didnt hurt so much. I know it will get better. I know several people that have gone through this and they didnt have the love and support that I do. I know I am very blessed. Thank you for you prayers and comments.  I look forward to keeping you all updated.

What is ths "port incision" I keep hearing you speak of?  I will be having the RNY on March 3rd and thought I had researched everything.  I too do NOT deal well with pain....at all....and im NOT exaggerating....so this is freaking me out a bit.  Can you be more specific?

I believe she is talking about Dr. Keith's habit of placing and leaving in a gastric feeding tube in his larger patienst as a procaution, it is not something every doctor does or if they do that they do it in every case.  And yes it is the sprest spot and requires alot of attention to flu**** out twice daily and to keep the drainage which continues till it is healed after removal cleaned up, then the catching when you move if not very watchful. I was so HAPPY when they finally removed it at 6 weeks.

Hi I think Tiggergirl is saying that she had the lap-band system removed (the lap-band has a port for filling the band with saline to make it squeeze off the stomach into a small pouch). Then after they removed the band and it's port, they performed an RNY on her.

Allright Tigger, I'm siding with the fiance-the more you get up and move and breathe the better you will heal.  For me, after any surgery, I tend to get anesthesia backlash-which is like the flu-and takes about a week to get out of my system (and I get up and move a lot).

Buyer's remorse is common and this stage, and it will get better.
