Ok, one of my friends has been talking this stuff up and I wondered what you guys might know about it.  It's supposed to help you burn fat and increase energy.  OK, so I'm hoping this works!

Anybody have any input?  I have more fat to burn!!!

Let me ask Dr. Phil's question here....How's it workin for her?

I bet I could have paid for my WLS with all the money I have spent on suppliments and vitamins that are supposed to do that and I ended up with having to buy a Banana...I just don't know about the hype of any of those things any more....BUT you are looking hot in your Avitar gir!!!!!

I know!  I know!  You are right!  There is no magic bullet or I wouldn't have had surgery.  I'm just so sick of being stuck in the 190's.  My body does not want to lose any more weight and I'm doing it all correctly.  Kinda disgusts me when I'm only eating about 800 calories a day and I'm not losing.  And I'm exercising 5 times a week now too.  Thought that would jump start things and it hasn't!!!

And the girl that is talking about the L-carnitine just started today so I don't have any results yet.

You coming to the support group meeting tonight?  I haven't seen you in forever!

Isn't this the stuff that they are getting injected?  My neice had been doing this (if this is the same).  She paid about $1500 for 8 weeks of it.  She was only eating 600 calories and working out.  She lost about 25 pounds (didn't need to loose more than than).  It sounds pretty gimmicky to me.  I lost a heck of a lot of weight (muscle) when I took phen phen and look what they found out about it???  Just my thoughts!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Any claim that a supplement does anything for you is anecdotal at best.  The FDA has not done the trials to determine the benefits.  Does that mean you won't see benefits?  Not necessarily.  For example, cinnamon helps with sugar metabolism.  Omega 3s help with cholesterol.  Calcium builds bones.  There are no magic pills for weight loss.  All those diet pills and such don't do a thing but make the manufacturer rich.  Most supplements won't hurt you but you still need to be careful.  We are different post-surgery.

Also, if you are exercising more, it could be that you are gaining muscle.  If muscle gain is the same as fat loss then you won't see changes since they balance.

Talk with the NUT and physio and see if there's some little thing that might be sabotaging your efforts.  My guess is that it's a natural stall and your body will adjust.  Patience is hard to come by since you've lost so well and so fast.

Besides all that, you look amazing!  So what you have a few more pounds you want to get off!  Look at how far you've come in such a short time!  You've lost this weight and gained so much life!  I truly envy you and hope I am as successful!

I did switch from walking on a treadmill to a recumbent bike.  And I know that my legs feel so much stronger.  And I know that I'm retaining some fluid right now too.

I have appointments to see everyone at WW on March 9 so I'll just hang loose until then.  Just hope I don't go all crazed by then and attack my scales!

No reason to envy, my friend.  You are going to be amazing.  I already know it.  Your mind is so in the right place and since I'm looking at you from the post-op side and know how the tummy works,  you're gonna be exceptional. I found my diary that I kinda kept before surgery this morning and read it.  I wish I had written more but I did find the list of things that I won't miss about obesity and I have achieved most of them.  Talk about incredible!

Hope you won't feel like a lab rat, but I can't wait until you're on the Loser's Bench.  I'm gonna have such fun watching you shrink.  Kinda like Jeremy - I'm watching him too.  That is very inspiring to me.  So don't think you're gonna dump this group any time soon.  I need you to keep me positive - like you just did!  Thanks!

Edit to add that I'm not really a stalker - I just sound like one!

Hey, Denise,
I talked to my daughter about you and she said to make sure you are changing up your routine...don't do the same thing every day in a row....One day do the bike....next time the treadmill....If you are doing any weights....only do upper body stuff one day and then the lower body the next time...alternate it often, even to the point of changing your days up off and on....and of course maybe just, add a protein drink to your daily menu that is low in carbs. I know you get plenty of water.....
Anyway, she is the trainer and so I just asked her for any advice....That's what she said.

I think it's a good point that I should add a protein drink.  I haven't really done those since the liquids stage.  Think I'll do a protein shake with some frozen strawberries and maybe some milk.

Probably need to start working out the upper body since I never do that...and I'm a weakling in that regard!

Thanks for looking for solutions for me - I appreciate it sincerely!
