I need to vent...........

I am stuck in the 190's and it's ticking me off!  I am doing everything I'm supposed including exercising 5 times a week and I'm stuck.  I'm only 7 pounds from losing 100 pounds and it remains elusive!  When there is nothing else you can think to do to make you lose weight, it is upsetting.

Don't get me wrong!  I'm grateful to have lost 93 pounds since last March.  But everyone is passing me by and I just keep weighing the same thing.  I'm sick of it!

Most of the gals I hang out with are all in the century club and I think I've been banned!  Was I supposed to pay some kind of initiation fee that somebody forgot to tell me about??

I'm ticked!  I'm pi$$ed!  I'm downright cranky about it!

Ahhhh!  There!  I feel better!  Thanks for letting me vent...back to my normal glittery self now!

I know what you mean.  But I thought the point always was to just get your heart rate up and sustain it.  And I did move from the treadmill to a recumbent bike in the last 2 weeks so seems like that might be somewhat different.

But, hey, I appreciate the advise.  I'll take any suggestion out there!  Thanks for taking the time to post!

We bought an elliptical when we bought the recumbent bike.  That sucker is hard!  I can barely stay on there a couple of minutes.  And sometimes if makes one of my knees hurt.  It is a goal of mine to try to conquer that hunk of metal!  LOL!

I was always afraid to get on the thing when I was going to a gym.  I was afraid it would buck me off!  Ha!  But I have no excuses when it's in a bedroom of my own house.  I'll try it and thanks for being encouraging!

Hey, Kim.
I was just thinking about your situation. Have you had the Resting Metabolic and that other test, with the exercise physiologist at Wt. Wise? If not, you should, as it will tell you exactly what target heart rate to sustain for the various workouts you do, so that you're working smarter, not harder. If your heart rate is too high or too low, you won't be at maximum fat burn. I wear the strap heart monitor, which helps me stay in the right zone. It's amazing how all that works. :)
Blessings,
Mary

Mary - I did have the VO2 about a month before surgery so it's definitely time for me to do it again.  I've been meaning to do it and just haven't done it yet.  I never did the RMR but that might be interesting too.  That just tells you how many calories you burn doing nothing.

Thanks for reminding me about this.  I need to do it!  And thanks for thinking about me - I appreciate it!

The VO2! That's it! I couldn't remember what it was called (my mind!). You should be re-tested, because with all the weight you've lost you probably can (and need to) exercise at a higher target heart rate. I bet you find that your metabolism will rev on up, then, and the weight will drop once more. Keep us posted. :)
