Yesterday, I wanted to put my head under the faucet and let the water pour into me....I wanted to drink all day.I was starving to death and I think I was even having a stall...just kidding on the stall......
Today I can barely look at a bottle of water....I made a protein shake and have sipped it down but man....I am nauseated and don't want to sip water.....It;s not like I'm puking nausea....it's just a uck nausea feeling and no hunger at all.....Basically, I would ask if I was crazy, but we all know that answer.... So, I will just ask if this is normal and does it mean drink the water anyway??

Thanks guys. What would I do without you guys!

You are normal.  Each day is a new adventure in what our tummies/head want.  Yes, you have to drink the water anyway.  We dehydrate very quickly and that is not an option!!!  (You KNEW the answer didn't you???)))  LOL  You might take some of your prylosec, previcid or probonics.  That might help with the nausea.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

I have had very little nausea so I'm not sure I can help.  I have, however, let myself get dehydrated and had to have the old needle to rehydrate.  I do not suggest that.

So I guess the answer is, yes, you need to still push liquids.  At this stage, that is the most critical thing you can do.  Not sure why you were so thirsty yesterday but it's good that you were able to drink a lot.

You'r not crazy!  There is a steep learning curve with the tiny tummy.  Maybe try some hot tea?

I would recommend you try some hot liquids.  The essential part is to simply get in some liquids!  You really don't want to dehydrate.  Each day with tiny tummy is a new adventure- especially at the beginning.  I felt like I need an instrucctin manual for my new body.  It was all so different post-op.  So, bottom line- all normal!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Hi, Sherry.
You are totally normal! I know all too well the early-out BI-POLAR tummy! :)  Every day was a new adventure. What would my tummy like today? Ice cold liquid? Room temperature? Hot? Just try it all, and see what works, knowing that tomorrow it may be something altogether different. Whatever you do--get in 64 ounces.  This, too, shall pass.
Blessings,
Mary

Yes, you must drink your water anyway.  This is not an option. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks all, I tried hot broth and it did make a difference....I was drinking room temp water and changed to my fravorite fast food ice and water and I began to start drinking again....I finally got my liquids all in and feel better this morning.  I am doing like Mama Rita says in that I don't worry about the protein as much as liquids, but if I want chocolate, I sip on the chocolate protein drink...I know though now....I MUST have those liquids and if I fill up on a protein drink I don't want to drink much later.....Lesson learned!!

Thank you for all your wise advice!
