I just thought of this when I was responding to those on liquids. And, since I haven't had breakfast and have an empty stomach, I did it myself. It's a good exercise.
Sit quietly and clear your thoughts.
Sip your water, and notice it as it slips down your throat and into your stomach.
Try to trace its path. Notice the physical sensations associated with drinking-did you ever realize that plain old water could be so wonderful? To often we don't notice the miracles around us. If we took more joy out of water, we might need less food....just a thought.
My PCP is from India and while I'm not into her type meditation, She used to tell me to learn to relax by not having any noise in the house, take a deep breath and breath out, slowly feeling every bit of the exhail. She said to hum while the breath exhailed. She said the humming vibrates the organs and sooth's the body. I'm sure the sipping of water would do the same if you stop to experience it....The grumbling kinda interrupts it off and on though....LOL OK SORRY!!!!

When it comes to meditation, I have ADD. I can only focus if I focus on something like breathing, or water, and for a very short time. If I DO make my mind blank, I just fall asleep. (Same thing happened when I smoked pot as a teen-I'm just not a good wild thang....)
I just want a quiet house! with hubby, 3 great danes, 2 kids & their spouses, a 9 mo old, 8 mo old & a 5yr old it aint happening! I think the only time it is truely quiet and peaceful is 3am...and Im not meditating at that hour! LOL
Good tip with the water.. I may have to ride out to Mt Scott and give it a try!

Debra LOL... I wish! I think they will live with us forever! or atleast till hubby is out of the army. They think I need them around for when he is off saving the world. Truth is Id like to have a house to myself...Plus our 3 danes sleep in the bed with me/us and they will sleep as long as we do which is good....so I would never be truly alone & they listen better than kids!
