Nothing left but the waiting
So I got ahold of a nicer person at my Dr.'s office and she copied my reccords and I picked them up and faxed them over to my surgeron this morning...All my info shold be faxed to the insurance this afternoon or in the morning....Now it's all out of my control. This is the one aspect I can't micro-manage and that drives me CRAZY!! I'll have to clear my mind for next two weeks and try to make time pass. Perhaps I'll just submurge myself in work so that I'm in good shape when I take off for my surgery. It's almost a stress relief knowing it's totally out of my hands now. I'm mentally ready, physically ready, now I need to get domesticly ready I need to get my house spotless and clear out all the things that I won't be able to eat after my surgery. I'll need to stock my pantry with things that I can have and Like Sherry said, maybe makes some Mushie foods to freeze. I'll need to buy a couple new pj sets to wear in the hospital. and get my bags packed for that. Can't forget my Aloette lip difference, or my moisterizer. I'll also need to make sure my iPod is up to date, and ask mom if I can use her laptop so I can keep in touch while i'm in the hospital. WOW there is ALOT more left than just the waiting I have to go get busy!!!
Keeping busy and preparing is the best thing that you can do~ Be sure you take my number with you. I'll come visit you in the hospital for sure! If you get antsy over the next couple of weeks, just call me anytime. I'm always around to talk, girl! *hugs* I just know it's all going to work out for you!

Let's see....the packing! LOL I walked in with my P.J pant's on and a sweat shirt and came home in that same outfit. I used one pair of p.J's there...I curled my hair before going in and it looked the same when I left the next day. When I packed, I had to remember I was only there for one day and most of that would be out on drugs! I never took a magazine, make up or a magazine. Maybe I'm just too old to care about that....I went there to buy a banana and that was all I cared about. Oh and like I said in one post....make sure all pants are very loose around the waist because the incisions are touchy!! My P.J's really bothered my incisions points. They are only sore a few days then turn itchy.
In my prep basket at home, I had, liquid tylenol, lip gloss, lotions, gasx, my new vitamins, and a whole bunch of crap I never used....It is more like recovering from a virus or something....not like any surgery I have ever had, yet probably one of the most drastic ones! I would besure to have the gas x though....as many have had an issue with that. I may be one of those who just had an easy time, not even nausea....and I still yet could go into some strange rebound I guess, but I feel amazing....tired, but good.
I know you are excited because I was just like this...but I wouldn't go buy much....you aren't in each stage long...I mean 1 bottle of bullion can make alot of cups....however; variety it up! Get small bottles or boxes of different types, vegetable, beef, chicken, pork, I even have a ham broth. I also got carrots, celery and onions to simmer in the broths to add flavor and vitamins. Anything to give it some depth and yet still remain clear. I have 3 or 4 types of teas and alternate those and then Walmart brand crystal lights. I made lots of SF jello and even put protein in one to make it better for me..... Rita says don't worry about getting in any protein during the first 2 weeks as some get nauseated but so far I am able to get about one in a day and feel fine. I bought 4 boxes of popcicles and haven't used but 1/2 of one.....so don't over buy. Its not like you can't leave the house to go get more of anything! You will be able to go to the store within a couple or 3 days to get more if you need something.
I will tell you this! My daughter has a small baby and the new plastic containers that baby food comes in, is perfect for filling for small meals! I pureed squash with cheese and put in there, I made my famous chicken/cheese enchiladas and put just the filling in 3 of them, because I will be able to have that soon and have done other things to be ready for that stage.....not that I can't cook it when the time comes, but I wanted to be busy. But if you know of anyone who has a baby, beg for those containers! They are just perfect for just about everything! They will come in handy when I open a can of anything and can only use 1/4 of the can to eat....I will be able to store the rest in my little free containers! I think these containers are maybe 1/3 of a cup and then others are 1/2 cup.
I am so excited for you! You are on the way to a new you and you are so lucky to be doing this so young! I'm a little old to start a new life but then i will increase my life so that makes it all worth it!

I'm so excited for you. One other thing you might be able to do to help pass the time is clean out that closet and your dresser drawers. Pull out any clothes that you won't be able to ever wear again and kind of organize those smaller things you might have. I was able to shop a little while in my closet with things I had outgrown. Be sure to label the hangers or divide them by sizes. You will go down sizes so fast it'll make your head spin. I wouldn't spend too much on nice PJ's for the hospital. Buy a couple of pair of cheap sweats and T shirts. They're not going to fit you very long at all. Sweats are all pretty much on sale right now also. Good luck to you and we're getting your place all ready on the "looser's bench". It'll be fun to have you with the rest of us "Looser's"!!!
LOL I forgot that I did that too before....the funny thing was, there was alot I couldn't part with for some dumb reason....comfort clothes...**** comfort foods! I still haven't gotten rid of those piles yet, I think I will go through my closet and drawers again and add to the piles.....I will always love big sweatshirts and baggy pants, so I will keep some of those, but I do have quite a pile of items. I did organize piles of smaller things and will look forward to shopping there soon!
