Right before my surgery, I decided to re-do my bedroom and that meant getting all of my clothes organized and put into same sizes.. Well, yesterday I decided to put on a little fashion show for my family..LOL.. I was able to fit into 3 pair of Rockies that I haven't wore in years!!!  Fit into Mickey Mouse sweatshirts, capris, summer tops.. And it felt GREAT..  The Rockies were the biggest motivation of all, it felt great to put them on and see how HOT my bootie looked..LOL... It will look even hotter in time..

I am afraid, my summer clothes may only get me through March and late April, hopefully some of May.. But you know what? I am okay with that problem..I can get away with some shorts and t-shirts..

Anyone trying out for surgery and working torward surgery, you have GREAT things to look forward too..

Thanks for letting me share,
Sheila

I did the "shopping in my closet" thing as an early-out, as well!  I thought it was the best thing ever!  I'm glad you got back into your Rockies~ one of my best friends is on a similar mission right now with weight loss and her Wrangler jeans.  *hugs*

What a great update Sheila, unfortunately I had gotten rid of all the clothes I had out grew and didn't keep them, and don't have the option of shopping my closet so thrift stores and clothing exchanges have been a life saver for me. Freecycle is good too, I have gotten clothes a time or two off there. Enjoy that HOT rocky booty.

Hi, Sheila.
I'm happy for you. I was having the opposite closet experience yesterday. In the past, if it didn't fit, I gave it away. Now, I have NOTHING (dress-wise) to wear. I'm losing on top, but my hips are still big, and nothing looks like it fits. I need to shop, but I really don't like shopping. Frankly, I just want to hibernate until this is all over and I know what size I am. Guess that's not possible. :)
I'm happy for you, though.
Blessings

Mary-you and I are so different in many ways-but in the clothing attitude, we are sisters.  Now, don't get me wrong, I was grateful for losing weight, but it was a challenge to go to the store, pick out the clothes, knowing that they wouldn't be around for long.  I mean, it was a challenge to care about what I looked like.  But, at times, I did try and then I made the rule I could only keep two sizes in the house at a time-so if I moved down, before I could go buy prospective smaller sizes, the bigger size had to go.

For me, with all the shifting my body has done (yes, the fat moves around) I never had to go back up to a bigger size once I moved down.

I've been bummed out about this all afternoon. I think, in my case, I care too much about what I look like, which is ironic when this comes from someone who let herself get up to 400 pounds. I don't know. I cried yesterday and didn't go to church, and you know it's bad when I don't go to church! I didn't sleep well last night, and today has been a big old raspberry! I'm sure I'll work through it, somehow.

I think you might be having some weight loss related emotional mood swings.  Dropping a lot of weight messes up our hormone levels and can create some issues-anger, crying, etc.
