Post Valentine's Day check up

I drove to Westville and picked up my new girl Molly. I was halfway home before I realized it was Valentine's day and I was "entitled" to a treat, but wasn't in the mood for chocolate. Then TODAY, the half price stuff at Walmart swept over me, but I just said no, because my rule is On or Before THE day.
MY big buggaboo is coming up-malted milk robin eggs at Easter, so I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm holding myself to only one treat, not a post Valentine's day serving AND an Easter serving. I'd only be cheating myself.
Weekend Valentine's days aren't a problem, but when I worked, sitting in the office watching all the flowers come in was, yes, tough. Because, even though it isn't meant to be, in Dallas it was a big competition to see who could get the biggest finest floral arrangement, and those of us who didn't get any at all, were looked upon with pity, whether we needed pity or not.
I'd have to think long ad hard about whether I loathe Christmas or Valentine's Day more-not for the original sentiment but for the one-upmanship aspect.
But, the good news is, MEN are now on the menu again. (LOL) I think most guys not in relationships kind of veer away from them between Christmas/New Years/Valentine's day.....cause it's just so bloody awkward. And honestly, I don't blame them (cause I do too-just too dang complicated to figure out the whole gifting/spending time thing).
I guess I have been single by chooose for so long that I have learned to make it what I want from it. I hope everyone else had a great day.
