Well I got my lab results back from my pcp and I am low on Vitamin D and need to take a seperate suppliment just for it.  A daily multivitamin was not giving me enough D.  Normal acceptable levels for D are in the 30-35 range.  Mine was 11.1.  You can buy D over the counter.  Low vitamin D can also lead to an inability to absorb calcium, which we also all need.  Jusat thought i would share.  Talk with your WLS doctor and have some labs done to see if you are deficient in anything.  Better safe than sorry

Glad that you got those labs done!! I was also  told that my vit d was low a last month, and they also put me on a seperate supplement of vit D. Very good info for newbies to know.

How much vitamin D were you taking? Your multivitamin should have it along with your calcium supplements. I'm getting about 300% RDA vitamin D and now I'm wondering if that is enough.

I have ended up having to take a seperate Vitamin D as well.  I think it's 1100 mg or something like that.  My multi-vitamin has the D in it but didn't do the job for me.  It's cheap too.  People use to get a lot of vitamin D from the sun but now most of us are working inside and don't get that sun people once did.  Since I take the seperate D my labs have been good and I have them done every 3 months.  I'll wait 6 months for the next round.  You're right...better safe than sorry.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Another one to watch is your potasium, it is often over looked but very necessary to us all.

I am glad they caught it and are getting you where you need to be good luck.
