How far out, post-surgery, should you be before you have your first blood workup? I meant to ask Dr. Walton, but I forgot.
Thanks,
Mary

Hi, LaDetra.
These 3 months have gone by fast. I've lost 41 lbs., not as good as you've done, but I'm happy. I have MANY more to go.
Labs at 6 weeks? Hmm...  I'll be interested to hear from those with Dr. Walton. I want to keep up with labwork, for sure.
You're doing great, and you're looking even better. :)
Blessings,
Mary

Dr Walton didn't say anything about labs until 6 months out.  Seemed to me like it should've been sooner but what do I know?

Dr W used to have labs done at 3, 6 and then 12 months in the past.  But I think unless there is an issue, it is 6 or 12 months now.  If there is any issue they evaluate depending on what is happening.  A full course of the labs is pretty expensive and I think it was due to that he has switched his protocol up.

I am not sure what Dr B's protocol is - I think his vary slightly from Dr W.  There are a FEW things different about the two of them, very few but ....

LOL.... you WANT to get 7-8 vials of blood drawn??  Really?  NOT!  I just had mine drawn a few weeks ago and they didn't protect the Vit B vials (again) and I had to go back to have them drawn (again).  That particular lab has done that twice to me now... dorks!

Thanks, Ruth. No, I wouldn't relish having blood drawn every 3 months. It is an expensive venture.

Mary,

It was at 12 months for me - just had them done two weeks ago. As Ruth said, unless there seems to be a reason to do them earlier, that is the standard with Dr. B. - You may want to just inquire if it is different with Dr. W.

HI mary,

I had my labs 3, 6, 9, 12 months...and then it's supopsed to be every 12 months after that from what I understand.
