CALCIUM

Am needing to order some calcium, but not sure I want to continue using the same stuff -- the Bariatric brand we get at WeightWise.  The sour cherry was ok for about a week, but grosses me out now.  I have been using the Chocolate wafers.  The taste is ok, but really gritty.  Tried the mint at my last appt. and that grossed me out too.  What do y'all use?  Michael

Hi, Michael.
I use the chewable strawberry creme and the chocolate from www.celebratevitamins.com. I also use the cinnamon (hot) lozenges from www.bariatricadvantage.com. I take calcium 3 times daily, so I use all 3, once daily. If I take the same flavor more than once a day, I feel sick to my stomach (I'm sure it's all in my head). Bariatric Advantage is coming out with 2 new calcium brownie-like bars (lemon and chocolate) this June. I hear they're really good. Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Mary

Michael,

I have an almost full can of UpCal D powder. I am not using it anymore and finally have become compliant with my calcium by using the citracal petites. I will gladly send it to you if you would like it. You can PM me your address.

I don't like the calcium tablets that we get at Weight Wise either.  I ordered some of the Upcal D and it's not horrible, but I need to mix in something hot instead of cold water.  Dr. Walton did tell me that they are trying to find a better calcium tablet because he said the ones they have now are awful.  I am not taking calcium right now because he told me to hold off until I get this ulcer healed.

Be sure you get Calcium Citrate, just regular calcium isn't the right kind for us RNYers.

I'm a cheater-cheater-pumpkin-eater because I started using the Citracal petites before I was 6 months post-op.  I seem to be doing fine but, of course, couldn't recommend this since it was against what I was told by the professionals!  But I'm more than 6 months out now so they can't yell at me!

That WW calcium stuff was terrible!  Happycat called it flavored kitty litter and I think she hit the nail on the head!

I wasn't much help, was I?

All of you helped, as usual.  Interesting that even Dr Walton isn't in favor of the Bariatric brand they carry.  Thanks to all, Michael
