Okay so as most of you know I go for my next Dr. apt to fill out all my paper work and try to set a surgery date this Saturday...I need to be 10 lbs down by the apt. I'm 8.6 lbs down as of this morning....I'm so scared that I won't be able to loose that last 1.4 by Sat!! Another problem is that the 8.6 that I"m down is me, first thing in the morning, in the buff. When I go to the Dr. Sat it will be about noon, and I'll be clothed! I'm freaking out about it. I've really worked hard at it, I've watched and acounted for every thing that went into my mouth. Any last minute tricks that you guys know of!?

I really don't know any last minute tricks but you might want to do a LOT of water and I'm sure you alreado are.  Your scales may be different from their scales and you may be already there anyway.  I hope so.  I'm sure they won't be hard on that 1.4 pounds because you'll probably have that gone plus a little by any surgery date they would set.  I think I wouldn't drink or eat anything that morning before you weigh and try to wear the lightest weigh clothes you have.  Maybe some wind pants and a T-shirt???  Heck, I even took off my necklace and earrings at one pre op appointment.  Good luck to you....you might eat some fiber today and tomorrow or take some so you can do #2!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Something I've learned over the past couple of weeks is that you need to weigh just like you do at the doctor's office.  If you had shoes on, wear shoes at home.  Keys?  Put them in your pocket.  Try and duplicate as closely as possible.  Otherwise you might get a false idea of where you are.

I did exactly the same thing.  I weighed without much clothing at home and with clothing at Weightwise.  WRONG!!  So I went one night and weighed at Weightwise and then went home and used the same clothing to weigh at home, shoes and all.  My home scale is 1 pound off but at least I know!

As to losing, how are you dieting?  Keep hydrated.  Shoot for 96 ounces a day.  Cut the carbs as completely as you can.  Eat protein first.  Substitute one meal with a protein shake.  Walk every day as much as you can handle but don't walk too fast.  You need to be able to carry on a conversation.  If you are out of breath, slow down.

You can do this!

I've been folowing this plan for about a month now. that first 8 lbs dropped off really quickly. but it seems like I CANNOT get under 224 for some reason! I'm even taking water pills so I don't retain.... I'll be so glad when Saturday is over!!

This is kinda drastic, but if you do liquids only you will really drop the weight.  I went on vacation for Memorial Day the weekend before my Wednesday surgery.  I was scared I might gain so I did 2 days of liquids before my surgery instead of 1 and came in 6 pounds under where I needed to be.

I don't know if this is good or responsible advice but it does work!

And push tha****er like Winne said!

That's actually a great  idea  Glitter! I don't know why it hadn't occured to me! A couple days of liquids never hurt anyone right!? Besides it will be a nice little test to see how tough I am before the real thing starts!  thanks!!

That is a good idea. I had to do the total liquid thing four days before my surgery and lost a chunk. The protein shakes really kept the hunger at bay too. Good luck!

La Detra hit the nail on the head.  If you're going to do liquids, do protein shakes, chicken or beef broth, sf jello, things that still give you protein !!!   As to weighing, I always got down to a pair of pants and a shirt so that I weighed the least.  Now -- I don't care !!!!  I feel wherever I am is better than where I was !

Hey girl~ I have faith in you!  You will lose that last pesky pound and a half.  Are you going to the support group on Saturday as well? Or just to your appointment?  I was going to be trying to go down for the meeting is why I ask.  I think the others on here have given really good advice, so try out some of it.  It certainly can't hurt none :)  Let me know how long you're gonna be in WF Saturday :)  Would be good to see ya!  *hugs*

Be sure and take your shoes off before you weigh at the Dr's office.  My nikes, that I usually wear, weight 1 pound each, so that's a little bit of help.

I know how you feel girl because I'm struggling too.  I bought a new scale this past weekend only to find my old one was 5 lbs off.
