affirmation

I wonder if everyone still desires affirmation, like I do (even at my over-50 age). Yesterday morning, as I was getting ready to go to Weight Wise, for my almost-3-month post-op appointments, I told the Lord that I really wanted Dr. Walton to be proud of me.
Well, guess what Dr. Walton (who didn't know about my prayer, obviously) said to me? "I'm proud of you, Mary." It made my day!
Blessings,
Mary

What a great affirmation Mary. though I think we need some updated pics of you and your loss. So we can see how hot you are looking. By the way I am proud of you too!

Thank you. There are no pictures of me yet. I don't know. That's hard for me to do (both emotionally and technologically). I'll think about it. I don't see much of a difference, yet. :)

Yes Mary, I do desire affirmation.  My affirmation came on Tuesday when I saw Dr. Walton, he asked me to stand up so he could feel my tummy and after he felt of me, he said, "You're pants are getting too big!"  That made my day!

I think we all need affirmation at some point, especially on something as important as this.

You have done great Mary, you should be proud of yourself!

Congratulations!

Hugs,
Marsha

How fun that Dr. Walton noticed that your pants are getting too big! What a man! :)  You're doing great, Marsha.

Yes, can't imagine anyone who doesn't need that affirmation, even the person who has their hand up to stop the applause is secretly motioning it on with the other.   Dr. W is great.  We are so  very proud of you too, HOWEVER, Missy, we would be even prouder if you would post some before and after pics!  If I would have known you were going to be there, I would have been tempted to drive all the way in, just to see you.  Of course, I would have had to walk around hollering, "Mary?, Mary?, Mary?" since I don't know what you look like, because you don't post any pics!  Now, we need details, though, tell us the result of your visit.  How much weight loss in the 3 months; feeling good?   Love ya, Michael

Hi, Michael.
Oh, my. Well, I know there are no pictures, and I know I should post some. It's just hard for me. We'll see.
I would have loved to have seen and heard you calling out my name, right in the middle of the Weight Wise waiting room. :)
As far as details, I'm doing fine. Since my surgery Nov. 17, I've lost 39 lbs., which makes 107 lbs. since my highest weight. I still need to lose 138 lbs., but I try not to think of that, as it's such a large number. I feel so much better already, which is such a blessing.
Thank you for being so sweet, Michael. My first husband's name was Michael, and he was not a nice man, so it's wonderful to meet a good Michael. :)
Blessings,
Mary

What great news, Mary.  Congratulations.  I know the numbers sometimes seem overwhelming, but you are almost 1/2 way there!  The even better news is you KNOW with your new tool, the rest it WILL happen.  Michael

Mary,

39 lbs. since November 17 is awesome!  You have definitely done well, before and after surgery.  And as for that total still left to go, don't look at the whole picture, set small goals for yourself and reach to attain those.  In 2000 when I was 420 lbs., I wouldn't even think of starting a weight loss program, because it was too overwhelming.  I did start to Weigh****chers in 2001 and I had the sweetest leader, she was an older woman who was the most enthusiastic leader I ever had.  I mentioned to her setting a goal weight, she wouldn't even talk to me about it because she said just look at a small goal, then worry about the end results when you get closer.  It worked for me then, so that's what I'm doing now.

Hugs,
Marsha

Hi, Marsha.
You know, I haven't set any small goals. I'm not sure why, because I know it's important to do. Hmm...maybe that means that there's a part of me that still doesn't believe this will happen for me. I need to work on that, for sure. Thanks.
Blessings,
Mary
