My dream is close to reality now!
Let's see...I had insurance....lost it along the way and now I am uninsurable.....Had no hope of funding and was given an early inheritance by my mother of 10,000. I had no way to get a cpap and one was loaned to me, then I had one given to me...I was finally ready.... only to have my Cardio doc say no, I had to wait for one year after my third stent (that ended Jan 23, 09)....I could have changed doctors, but he had my best interest at heart (literally)so I complied.. Finally I got my release, only to have my blood sugars go up to high to have the surgery.....Finally I got them down......and yes finally I have a date!!! I have been after this dream since June and I have never given up..Next Wednesday Feb. 11th will be my day to take a seat on the loser's bench.. Never give up your dream....Even when there are numerous delays....don't give up!I had to take the attitude that the weight didn't get here in a short time..I have time to wait to work on myself while waiting. I did. Dr. Walton is unsure what effect the surgery will have on my diabetes because my insulin amounts are so high....I am believing it will help to cure it...if not right away...then soon after, but I am believing it! My dream is going to come true and that means all of it! I am going to become a healthy person once again! Thank you all who have supported me and stood by me when I went through the valleys. Thank you to those who have blessed me so many times over these months...Thank you for your encouragement and support because without it. I may have given up....Now I will just say....Get your butts ready to move over cause here I come!!! Thank you all!.
This is good news, indeed! You've got some packing to do, but I'm sure you have your list all ready. You're on my prayer list. Keep us posted, and get ready for more great things ahead.
Blessings,
Mary

Sher, I am so EXCITED for you! You certainly have learned patence during all this time. Like someone said earlier...good things come to those who wait. You have been such an encouragement to so many of us and we are here for you as well. We've had you place on the looser's bench all picked out for a long time now we can fini**** up!!! WOOO HOOO HOOO!!!! It's going to happen in only a WEEK!!!! It'll be here before you know it.
OMG, Sherri. I am so very happy for you. When I read your post, my heart lept for joy for you! What surgery are you having? My blood sugar was usually running a high 200's and even low 300's, with insulin, before surgery. In hospital, the day after surgery, it was 114 and the other day when I tested, it was 89 with no meds. Dr. Walton took me off my insulin in the hospital, and haven't had any since. I know this has been such a long process for you, but you have remained steadfast, patient, and faithful. Mark my words, God will use this to be a testimony for someone else down the road that is having the same or similar problem, and they will be comforted and inspired by your journey. Congratulations, it's like a dream isn't it? Love ya, Michael.
Michael, it HAS been a long road, but I could always see the destination was out there and that I would make it. I am having the sleeve and statisically they say on comorbidities, it is similar, so I am going to stand on that and believe it will be! My A1 was 10 when I started this and 3 weeks ago it was still 8.9, but I was off insulin for 2 weeks during that time because I just didn't have the money. I tried to just eat right...It shot up into the 400's....I got my insulin and watched every bite and I got it down below 8 so he said I was a go!!!! It is a dream...one I have been dreaming of for so long...I am praying that I won't have to have a 4th stent and that my neruopathy in my feet can begin to heal. AND that the diabetes will drop...even if I have to take a pill a day, I'd be fine if I could drop my 6 shots a day!!
You have done wonderful!! People like you are who keep people like me hanging on to our dream of this....Thank you Michael!
Love ya back!
