Getting back to work!!!
Really depends on which procedure you have and how you do. I had the sleeve on a Wednesday, one night in the hospital, and went back to work the following Monday for 4-1/2 hours. I have a desk job and I needed to get back to work to get my mind off the fact that I was on liquids only.
I remember my surgeon saying at my first seminar that how much time you take off is directly dependent upon how much time off you have available to you. I think there is a lot of truth in that!
Good luck to you! Kim

I had the sleeve done on a Wednesday and I could have gone back to work on that Monday, but I choose to take two weeks off. I liked being off because I could spend time checking out the new me taking things slow and making things with me were ok. Plus I didn't tell any of my co-workers that I had the surgery and I wanted to avoid the question of why are drinking nothing but liquids? I say if you have the time, baby yourself and take it off!

I already blabbed that I was going to have it here at work, and I wish I wouldn't have, but oh well. I plan on moving back to CA before the fall and I haven't told anybody out there so that's good. I work for the state but our office is SO flexible, and completely understanding about everything including family illnesses so if I find that going back to work too soon was stupid, then I can have off as much as I want to (or have accrued that is!).

I took 3 weeks off because at 2 weeks I was still having some back spasms and knew that I wouldn't be able to sit in my chair for 9 hour a day. I took short term disability on the advise of my HR department and could have been out for up to 6 weeks, but I couldn't afford financially to be out longer than that.
