Congrats on a surgery date!  Welcome to the light of day and out of lurkdom!

The first 2 weeks on liquids is tough.  Your brain will tell you that you need food but you aren't really hungry- promise!  Follow your surgeon's intstructions and you will be fine.  If you eat something you shouldn't one of a few things will happen: 1) you will get icky and maybe throw up  2) you will tolerate it OK.

I don't know what shots you are talking about.  But, I have given myself shots in the past and it is no big deal.  This is a small issue compared to how wonderful you will feel this time next year with your skinny body!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Welcome!
I freaked a couple of times before surgery.  But after I decided I WAS going to do it I felt peaceful and READY!  I tried not to think about anything negative after that!  You will do fine.  The shots aren't too bad.  I didn't like them either!  But I just kept telling myself I only have 9 left...I only have 8 left...This isn't going to be forever!  LOL!(so far I don't have to do the b-12 shots, I do the dots under my tounge)  I hope you get your calm feeling and don't go so crazy over the small stuff.  You'll do fine.
I wish you the best of luck!
Hugs
Kim

Hi and welcome out of lurkdom! Congrats on getting the date that will change the rest of your life. I started out at 375 and had all the issues you do. I know that my sugar is normal, blood pressure is awesome, cholesterol..not sure, but I am sure it is down as well...wont know until my physical next month, and sleep apnea...not sure but I dont wake up with the terrible headaches like I used to and just feeling tired thru out the day. I did the Lovenox shots and was scared that I had to do them, but they are really not bad at all. Also for the B12 same story, not bad at all...I take the B12 once amonth. U will do fine and yes there is a little discomfort, but it is surgery. U will fly thru with flying colors and any pain will be a distant memory in the weeks following. Hugz

Awww, thanks, Guys, for all the encouragement!  Ya know, its so funny, I wasn't worried at all, and was really looking forward to having this done (still am!!!!) but it seems the closer it gets, the more I get butterflies.  I'm glad its normal, and no way in you know where am I backing out!  When I went to my nutritionist appointment, I met the other 2 people that are having their surgery the same day I am.  A man having the bypass, and a woman having the sleeve.  I was very glad to have met them, and I am looking forward to seeing them after their surgeries, too.

Congrats on the surg date. I am also going to use Dr gorospes office for my surg. I am waiting on Insurance approval and than will get my date. I am not afraid of the surg either it is mostly after surg that I am afraid of as well. I have a mom  that is a nurse so she will give me my shots or I will have to suck it up and do my own (na I will have mom do it) You are not being silly. We all have fears and worries. But it will be on the losers bench really soon and on your way to a healther and happer you. Welcome to the group.
