I passed my psych eval
I was really worried about passing my psych eval because I had to take the mmp2 test, I have bipolar, and when I was 9 years old I was sexually abused by a family memberand 2 past suicide attempts when I was 19. I was really worried tyhat with my past psych history I would fail the test big time. I had my eval last monday and it cost 422.00 to take and I had to wait till today to see if he would pass or fail me. I just got a call from the Dr's office and he said he had never seen such great test resualts as mine where. He said the test showed I am kindda angry and very standofish but other than that I am normal he dosen't think I have bipolar at all. I am so happy. I got my psych clearance and he will fax it over today. I will fax all my medical history over monday morning and will have to wait for the final insurance approval and I will get my surg date. I have my sllep study on the 10th of feb and it will be sone in tulsa. I am geting so excited but a little nervous to.

Hi, Christina.
Congratulations on being able to mark off another pre-op requirement. You'll be fine with the sleep study. If I can do it, trust me, anyone can. :) Try to go into it physically tired, see if you can take a sleep aid (if you feel you'll need it), and just submit to the process.
Blessings,
Mary

I really wish they come up with a less daunting term than evaluation or test. They are trying to identify people who would have trouble complying to the aftercare and who have raging eating disorders. Still, it's an awful feeling to think something like a psych exam could keep you from the surgery, yet most people are fearful of it.
I am really glad your history was not a problem-because it shouldn't be.
