OT - Need OKC hotel recommendation

My great-niece is having surgery next week at the OU Children's Hospital and I would like to stay at a safe place.  Your recommendations would be appreciated!  She is having surgery to straighten her leg and will be in a cast for about 6 weeks.  She'll be 6 in four months.

We were in OKC Monday for her pre-op appointment.  Coming out of a parking garage, I slipped and fell on some ice and hit my head on a cement wall.  Thank goodness I've got strong bones and a hard-head!  It took us over an hour to get out of OKC.  We were on I-235 and it was bumper to bumper.  We saw a lot of wrecks on the turnpike.  I'm glad we're supposed to have good weather next week.

Youch!  I hope you are okay!

I work in that complex.  There are a couple of hotels nearby but they aren't all that great.  Your best bet is to stay downtown or in Bricktown.  There's several nice places within 5 minutes of the OUHSC that are great to stay in and there's plenty of food around, too.

Go here for a list: http://www.bricktownokc.org/p/8092/Default.aspx.

Good luck and I hope your great-niece has an easy surgery and recovery!

Bless your heart Pamela!

I agree with Winn...Stay somewhere close to bricktown/downtown area and you will be seconds away from Children's. I used to do business with the Crown Plaza (heart of downtown) and they were always wonderful. I will tell you that there is a Thunder game on Wednesday, just in case you are staying on that evening too, traffic will be busier.

Best of luck to your niece! We will be praying for her and you as well!

Ouch.....I hate falling on ice.
I see you are in Claremore. I am too. I am also using Dr. Katsis. I have my last nut appointment on Wednesday and go to his office for my last weigh in and labs. I am so excited. Can't wait to get my date.
Hope you find a nice, inexpensive place to stay. I have only stayed in the city once and it was 15 years ago.

I would suggest you go to www.hotwire.com and search oklahoma city, central area, and ask for a 3 ($59) or 3.5 star hotel ($79).  I think you will be pleasantly surprised where you end up for a very reasonable price.  I did this twice for Tulsa, Southern Hills, and ended up at the DoubleTree the first time and the Hilton the second.  NOT BAD !!!
