A lil bit OT, but nah, not really OT

So clothes and shopping is something we all have to face in our everyday lives.  It can be the bane of existance pre-WLS and it can be downright fun and addicting to buy new clothes post-WLS.  That being said, I know we're not all post-ops, but I wanted to make a fun little discussion here.

1.  Where were the places you shopped for clothes the most when you were a pre-op?

2.  Where are the places you shop the most for clothes now as a post-op?  (If not a post-op or still early out, where are the places you have on your "wish list" for being able to go to and buy clothes)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.  When I was still pre-op, I shopped mostly at Lane Bryant, Cato, Fashion Bug, Deb, and Wal-Mart for my clothes.  I shopped anywhere that I could find stylish plus size clothes cuz I still wanted to look as close to my mid-20's as possible at a size 26.
2.  Now, I can shop wherever, but my favorite place is probably American Eagle, followed by the Buckle, Old Navy, Aeropostale, and PacSun.  I also still find great deals at Target and Wal Mart all the time and snag them right up.
1.Pre Op I was a Cato girl.
2. Post Op I'm big on Old Navy for day to day, but I enjoy splurging on some really nice every now and then too.  Pre Op, there was rarely anything nice that fit to splurge on.
Good Morning...
well lets see...being that I am shopping challenged because of where I live, I will have to go off when ever I am visiting the city, like OKC and Wichita falls....
1.  Pre-op I would mostly shop online with who ever had the cheapest clothes.  I hated going shopping and trying on clothes because as my size climbed my self-esteem plunged...but mostly I shopped at Fashion Bug.
2.  Post-op I shop at every store I didnt dare walk into before....I was really enjoying shopping at Steve and Barrys up in the city, but they are closed now...so sad...but I really enjoy Old Navy, American Eagle, 5,7,9, ...ok...anywhere that has a good sale going on. ( I truly enjoy wearing small sizes now because you can walk into any store now)  I avoid all the stores that I shopped at prior to surgery and even stopped thier emails to me so I dont get reminded of them.
Pre-op I shopped in Lane Bryant, Avenue, Wal-Mart, anywhere that was likely to have something big enough to fit me and be affordable.
Post-op I shop mainly in JC Penney, and Kohl's.  I haven't really done much shopping since it seems the clothes only last a short while.  I have not done any investment type shopping as it is pointless right now.  The beauty of shopping now is that I can go ANYWHERE!!
At  this point I keep myself in about 3 pairs of pants for work and a pair of jeans.  The tops seem to last longer sizewise.  I have accumulated more of those than anything.  And, I won't even mention how hard it is to stay in underwear that fits!  Geez!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
Pre op I was a fashion bug, lane bryant and avenue girl. Post op I love Charlotte Russe, thrift stores, and my stored away clothes that I couldn't used to wear. :) All my really cute shirts with the tanks underneath are from either Charlotte Russe or Macy's clearance rack.
Post op most of my shopping was at Catherine's (they use Omar the Tent Maker you know??).  I shopped some at the Avenue when I could find size 32 or 34 which wasn't often in there.  (They didn't sell tents at Lane Bryant, Cato or Fashion bug that fit my bodd!! ) That was about it for those sizes.  Now I can go ANY WHERE I WANT TO GO SHOP!!!  It's so awesome.  I remember looking forever to find something to wear to my oldest son's very formal wedding...NOT.  It didn't happen at my stores!!!  I really enjoy shopping at Marshall's, Ross and TJ Max and finding bargains since they don't get worn that long.  I also shop at the outlet malls at Branson and in Texas when I go visit my son.  Cheap is in until I get to goal and don't change sizes every month or so.  NO COMPLAINTS HERE!!!
This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!
I did forget to add one of my new places that I absolute love to shop in especially on their red dot clearance sales is Steinmart.  I've found some awesome things in there lately.  I got 3 really cute jackets for $13 and $15 each....I had to get a home loan to buy jackets at Catherines before WLS.....  Check them out sometime...especially their clearance racks!!!  I can make brown, black and navy pants go a long ways with different tops and a couple of jackets these days.
Pre-op was pretty much Cato and Lane Bryant. I'm looking forward to the day that I can shop in The Buckle! I want to be able to wear a pair of jeans from there so bad......
Funny that you mentioned shopping for clothes. When i first started my wl I had a goal silly as it sounds it was to wear a pair of Lucky jeans I always took my kids to the Buckle to shop but they never had anything for me I hated going in there and being the fattest person in there they never even offered to help me I guess they could tell by looking I was in the wrong store ( but I still wanted those jeans).
So the other day I was in the mall and thought ok here we go. I stroll in the store and here comes a clerk I told her I would like to try on a pair of Luckys she didn't hesitate off she goes and comes back with a pair of Luckys size 12 little did she know i was about to throw up I was afraid of being humilated in the dressing room well guess what they fit i could have done cart wheels! I can't explain the excitement I felt.
The clerk asked me if that would be all for me and I said I think I will wait until I am a size 10 to purchase them I would hate to waste 120 dollars when next month I won't be able to wear them and I just grinned she had no idea what I was talking about.
To make a long story short it sure does feel good to shop wherever you want doesn't it.......
